Quaggan is determined to reach a place without foo monsters. Quaggans are tired, but must keep going soon. Quaggans are the last left.

Last left of what?

Of quaggan’s village. Forty-three quaggans were with us when we had to leave. Others are lost, or worse than lost. But quaggan will not think about that when more when[sic] quaggans are safe.

You’re fleeing the undead? Was your village here when the island rose?

No, quaggan’s village was south, very far and very deep. Bad foo monsters came and killed, but not for food. So many came. We swam here, but also not safe. But quaggan has hope as long as some quaggans remain.
