Use in Guild Wars 2[edit]

Hall of Chains[edit]

"Desmina's Theme" makes its first appearance in the "Desmina's Reclamation" track which plays during the battle against the Soulless Horror, Desmina's body which is devoid of her spirit, in Hall of Chains. Mixed choir hints at the theme at the beginning of the track and simmers throughout the first half before strings playing in staccato announce the theme proper at 0:42 with an aggressive mixed choir joining in soon after. The theme then transitions to calmer strings playing in legato before leaving the theme and fading into oppressive brass that overpowers it with the mixed choir returning one more time for a shrieking stinger as Desmina's spirit reunites with her subdued body.

The theme returns in "The Hall of Judgement" track which plays during the battle against Dhuum, the former God of Death whom Desmina intends to stop. It appears in a fragmented form in the first half of the track, first played simultaneously by brass and strings under a driving percussive rhythm before having a faint echo with strings which is overpowered by the brass that transitions into "Dhuum's Theme" as the God of Death decides to engage in the battle personally.
