Pass the flame from torch to torch to transport it to the upper brazier is a level 80 group event that is part of the Ceremony of the Sacred Flame.

Walkthrough[edit]

For the successful completion of the event, you will need to carry enough lit torches to the brazier near the effigy site. If you interact with one of the torches, you can either light it up on the brazier right next to it, or you can choose to carry a torch unlit. As soon as you light your torch a new healthbar will appear above your head, which will continuously decrease the longer you hold the torch. This is also indicated by the Sacred Flame.png Sacred Flame Wielder effect. However, you are not able to carry the torch the whole way to the next brazier, since when the healthbar is completely depleted, your torch will vanish. Whenever you carry a lit torch, you will get a new skill, which allows you to throw the torch (Throw Torch) a couple of units and create a fire field on the ground. People with unlit torches are now able to light up their torches on the so created fire field - thus getting further to the brazier which has to be lit. Be careful that teleporting, shadowstepping or using a portal while carrying the sacred flame will extinguish it.

The goal is to work together with other people to light up the braziers as quickly as possible. Therefor one player carries the torch from the brazier until the healthbar is almost gone, then he throws the flame for another player to light their torch, who will repeat the same task until a couple of people waiting near the next brazier can all light their torches.

It is recommended to light up the checkpoint brazier first since it is nearer to the effigy site brazier and shortens the distance the torches have to be carried.

Event start
Head Shaman Emberheart: Good. The fire has been tamed. Now, we must shoulder its power as a test of our resolve.
Head Shaman Emberheart: Take up your torches and light them in the brazier. The fire will fade quickly, so we must come together.
Head Shaman Emberheart: Share the flame, torch to torch, and carry it to the upper brazier. I will meet you there.
On failure
Head Shaman Emberheart: We have failed. The flame has dimmed. But we are strong! We will nurture it again in time.
