Widget talk:Editing robot
I see the robot uprising has already started. —Ventriloquist 18:45, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

- No, it's pywikibot as a widget. -Chieftain Alex 18:57, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Awesome![edit]
This page is pretty damn cool. I'll definitely make use of it as it's even quicker than running through regular pywikibot commands. With regards to that, I image mass uploads I should do while logged in as my bot to not kill RC?
Also, is this limited to certain users only? The no warnings at all might be kind of sketchy to leave open to everyone. -Darqam 19:22, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
- Based on the code at the end, I think only sysops can use it. - Doodleplex 19:33, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
- Currently it's admins ('sysop'), extended editors ('patrol') and bots ('bot'). Be aware that I haven't tested what happens when you choose "delete" or "restore" when you're non-admin. I'll think about fixing that. Some instructions:
- For uploads the instructions are [1] load the widget page, [2] specify an edit summary (if you paste from another window you can use newlines in it), [3] select files that are named already from a folder, [4] select "upload" from the dropdown box and press run, [5] wait until all the files appear in the green box on the right, or something fucks up and the script dies.
- For purging/deleting/restoring pages the instructions are [1] create a plaintext list of the pages that you want to purge and separate them with newlines, [2] paste it into the left box, [3] specify an edit summary (optional for purging), [4] select "purge"/"delete"/"restore" and press run, [5] wait until all the page names appear on the right.
- For moving pages, it takes pairs of articles of the form "Article One > Article Two" on each line.

PSA[edit]
Do not press the run button more than once. It will work after a couple seconds. Now I need to see what sort of mess I’ve made. J.Tesla (talk) 23:17, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
- Want me to delete the extras so the icon is only shown as being uploaded once? Additionally everything is still a little laggy after the server move, so be patient. ;) - Doodleplex 23:19, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
Slowness[edit]
Not sure if this is just me, but this page is reeeeeally slow today. An upload of a 32x32 icon is taking upwards of 5 seconds. -Darqam 19:32, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- That seems to be the speed of saving anything in general I've noticed, not just bot edits. - Doodleplex 19:33, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- You'll find the delay server-side is exactly 5 seconds. Amazon has some kind of crappy rate limiting thing going on. -Chieftain Alex 21:33, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hum alright, I guess just poor timing for when I needed to upload like 200+ things lol. Oh well all done now anyway I guess. -Darqam 22:34, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

API error: missingtitle[edit]
I've trying to move some images (eg 'Officer's Remnant Shield full size.jpg > Officer's Remnant Shield.jpg') but the widget doesn't do anything and displays missingtitle error in the browser console. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 14:29, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- Try specifying the page name properly? (with "File:" prefix) -Chieftain Alex 14:47, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- Oh oops. Thanks. Now I'm only hitting the rate limit for moving. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 15:19, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
