Description

This widget can be used to generate the information necessary for the {{[[Template:Locators|locators]]}} zone specific sub-templates from locator map images.

Instructions

  1. Click on the button at the top of this page and select the locator images for the zone for which you wish to create the locator template for.
  2. Fill out the boxes that appear.
    • Each box will show the area it belongs to, the floor it is understood to be on (i.e. the file that it is from) with buttons to change it, and two text fields. The upper text field is for the page name the area has on this wiki and would be e.g. "Bell Tower (area)" for Bell Tower (area), with the lower text field being for the name of the area as displayed in the game, e.g. "Bell Tower" for the aforementioned area.
    • The text fields of the boxes can be navigated between using Enter to move to the page name text field of the next box and Shift+Enter to move to the area name text field of the current box or, if already in that text field, to the page name text field of the next box.
    • Areas for which the page name text field in its box is empty are not included in the generated template output. This is usefull to exclude surplus areas in cases where the locator images contain additional area outlines for diplay purposes. (As is the case for e.g. the locators of Queensdale, which have an additonal area outline for the area highlighted.) The boxes are initially sorted by the position of the area within each floor to aid with spotting of overlapping areas on the same floor.
  3. Click on the button at the end to generate the sub template code (and the default (non highlighted) floor files, if there is more than one floor) from the current inputs. When working with more than one floor, this output will contain sections to be replaced, marked by < and >, for the floor names and default floor files for when no area is highlighted on that floor. It may also be necessary to add the names of the locator files (without the namespace) after the area page name, separated by a semicolon, within the {{locators/preview}}, in case the locator file name does not match <area page name> locator.svg. E.g. "Bell Tower (area)" within it would have to be specified as "Bell Tower (area); Bell Tower locator.svg" instead.
