"Look at me, I have a talk page!" - ThatOneGuy 23:55, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

(Edit conflict) That you do !! Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 23:56, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
OMG you were way too fast on that response. xD I didn't expect anyone to say anything on here. At least, not that quickly - ThatOneGuy 23:59, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I was trolling the recent changes while installing another OS on my laptop, so I really didn't have anything better to do. Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 01:03, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
*troll troll troll troll troll* hmmm what OS are you installing? - ThatOneGuy 04:12, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Many, lol. Installed Mandriva on my main system, dual boot with windows XP for gaming. Got my "work" computer set up in the basement and did a fresh Kubuntu installation on that, and my "work" laptop got a fresh install of Ubuntu. Neither of the work computers have DVD readers :(, so they needed a lighter OS than Mandriva to install. But it works out quite well actually. Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 04:17, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm Linux fan are we? I looked at linux, then decided I might as well stay with Windows 7 cause it came with the laptop, I knew it, and, most importantly, it ran GW without any extra software. Sucks that your laptops don't have DVD readers. What's the point of a laptop without the ability to watch DVDs? xD - ThatOneGuy 04:23, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Well the laptop is about 5 years old and the computer is about 7, so rather than upgrade parts to run a hefty OS that has too many functions anyways for what I need it for, I thought I'd just run lightweight Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 04:28, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Of course, that makes perfect sense. For me though, it didn't make sense to go way out of my way to install a new OS on my laptop when the one I have works perfectly fine in every way. Besides, I love Sticky Notes. They don't disappear when I restart my computer xD - ThatOneGuy 04:31, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Profession Predictions[edit]

So I want comments on my predictions. Good? Bad? Completely off? - ThatOneGuy 00:03, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Gunner is a very fuzzy and broad term, it simply means that one profession that is not the others will use some type of gun. It's commonly used as a placeholder for the profession that can use guns but not bows and placeholders are nothing you really predict with. There are many ways guns can be used, but a profession is limited to its playstyle, for example daggers are mainly a throwing weapon for Rangers. Therefore a profession based on two types of guns are even more fuzzy when you dont know how to use them, right? The concept of a guns only profession was unlikely from the beginning since it only gives you 5 the first 5 skills on your skillbar, and if you count 5 skills for both rifles abd dual guns they will only have access to 10 attack skills, and that's far away from making a profession of it. So explain yourself, specify your "Gunner", depending on the concept you should give it another name. That's my comment. ;) --AdventurerPotatoe User A F K When Needed Potato icon.jpg - 00:14, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
I really don't have anything specific to say about it. This is a concept I've seen in predictions around around the wiki. All I can really say is that it most likely is a new profession, as it appears to be wielding a gun (albeit a very large one) and I can't really think of another adventurer to fit the budget. What do we have left? Ritualist and Dervish, really, cause it seems monk and paragon will be combined into the paladin-like class. Neither of those two classes seem very likely to make a comeback in GW2. Unless, of course, you consider the paladin to be a dervish (both being "holy warriors")... then you could say that that guy is actually a Paragon. O.o Not likely though. Thank you for the comment, sorry I can't elaborate. - ThatOneGuy 04:12, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
My predictions have elabolarated on the Gunner, with that name being a placeholder and subject to change. I believe you might mean it much like I depicted it, and if so I believe we both nailed the professions down near perfect. - Infinite - talk 04:30, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
The name Gunner is a placeholder, we know that there will be one profession that uses guns but not bows, there are people who thinks the profession that can wield guns but not bows is an adventurer and therefore calls the third adventurer gunner. However, there is a really big chance that the third adventurer WILL wield a gun, so in my eyes, calling it Gunner would be cheating. :P Anyways, as I said, a Gunner would only get access to 10 skills(5 when wielding a rifle and 5 skills when dual wielding pistols) and the other 3 skills, the healing skill and the elite would be empty. Usual predictions and speculations include: Alchemist, Engineer, Musketeer, Pirate, Western Themed profession and others. These professions can actually have a complete skillbar, the western themed one is one concept I know very little about, if you want to know more, go to Konig Des Todes. --AdventurerPotatoe User A F K When Needed Potato icon.jpg - 09:33, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Yes, Gunner is merely a placeholder. I need to put more thought into what the "gunner" class will do. I may look around at other people's ideas and find something reasonable to craft into the description. In the meantime, Ill make a note for clarification that Gunner is a placeholder. - ThatOneGuyUser ThatOneGuy TOGss.png 19:13, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Infinite, I just read your description on the gunner and that sounds almost exactly what I was thinking about, as well as your description of the paragon being spot on to what I had been thinking for it. I suppose it's true that great minds do think alike. - ThatOneGuyUser ThatOneGuy TOGss.png 19:35, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
I can imagine Infite's Gunner work if it had some more wepons, torch, warhorn or sword for example. --AdventurerPotatoe User A F K When Needed Potato icon.jpg - 19:55, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Reread it. At the end of his description Im pretty sure he mentioned torches and warhorns. He also mentions daggers, but not dual-wielding. I think that's plenty of weapons myself, considering that makes 7 weapon combinations as opposed to the elementalist's 5. - ThatOneGuyUser ThatOneGuy TOGss.png 20:49, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
It mentioned dagger, nothing else, it also mentioned healing bullets. I changed my mind, its not a good idea. --AdventurerPotatoe User A F K When Needed Potato icon.jpg - 21:40, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
"Sword or axe, but not both." I can quote from the top of my mind. But regardless of name, I strongly believe the combination of mid-line support and burst-damage knockbacks sketch this third adventurer. As for Paragon, I am one of the few who actually wants to keep the name, I believe. :) - Infinite - talk 01:27, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
I honestly don't care about the name. But anyway, I feel that's a good prediction, Infinite.
Now, who else feels a strange premonition that the next class will be unveiled this weekend?xD - ThatOneGuyUser ThatOneGuy TOGss.png 03:46, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
/want =D - Infinite - talk 04:01, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

(indent reset) Well, the weekend has passed, and no profession has been released. D: it seems my premonition was false. I CAN, however, guarantee that it will come in the next few days though, cause they said that we'd have another profession by Gamescom, which is in another few days.... okay, so.... GOGO POWER RANGERS >:D - ThatOneGuyUser ThatOneGuy TOGss.png 22:02, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Hey[edit]

I've moved your (future (apparently)) signature image to its correct location. Just as a heads up; images should always uploaded as 'User ThatOneGuy <filename>.***'. Anything else isn't according to policy, so it might trim down on your signature code, but still someone will move it ;). Cheers. --Naoroji User Naoroji Golem - Green.jpg 07:26, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

To help you out, I went ahead and fixed your image links so they now link to the new image name. Happy editing :D ShadowRunner 10:18, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Naoroji for the heads-up and thanks Shadow Runner for the help in redirecting my previous signs. I'll keep that mind next time I upload an image. I will have to go fix that on GWW1 later, too. Right now my computer has been... confiscated. I'm on my iPod for a while so editting is mostly out of the picture. :/ oh well. - ThatOneGuyUser ThatOneGuy TOGss.png 18:50, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

user page edit[edit]

IP (94.139.74.67 (talkcontribslogsblock log)) made an edit to your page that looked slightly like vandalism. If it wasn't (and was actually you) then I apologize. I undid what IP did, you can see it [1] Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 02:13, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Thank you Venom, this was indeed vandalism. - ThatOneGuyUser ThatOneGuy TOGss.png 21:36, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
