Images[edit]
Dude, what are you doing? Why are you uploading worse pictures over neutral no character in focus and HQ pictures? Please stop, it's not helpful. --Eruru (talk) 15:24, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- (I've mentioned on Eruru's talk page that this kind of first comment on a user talk page comes across as being a douche.)
- We try to be objective here + where possible retain the best image we can get our hands on. When I say best image, I mean the one that is closest to how it looks ingame, which means no filters or mods or whatever. We mention this on File talk:The Bifrost Trail.jpg this talk page.
- I've had a look at the files you've uploaded (including the ones that Eruru overwrote) + they are by in large very good, my only comment being that Bunny Ears probably distract + should be removed before taking a screenshot ;) So if we could get a detailed shot of the top of th Bifrost staff head without the bunny ears that would be great). Thanks for persisting.
- Also, I see you uploaded [[:File:Gw014.jpg]] earlier, can we delete or rename this if you want to keep it? -Chieftain Alex 19:50, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- Derp, seems I'm being slow tonight, Doodleplex has reuploaded it at File:User Nikeira Gw014.jpg so i'll delete "File:Gw014.jpg". -Chieftain Alex 19:56, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
Hello, sorry, I'm new to this. Gw14.jpg was my first picture, I was testing how to upload. It's ok to be deleted. :P I will get a Bifrost head shot without the bunny now! :D Thanks guys! Nikeira (talk) 17:00, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
(Reset indent) Hi Nikeira, belated welcome to the wiki! Thanks for your high quality screenshots, they are much appreciated and have a lot of potential!
- Just a few things from my side (I'm the image pedant here o/); avoid making collages -- particularly for the main image of a weapon these are a bit problematic as such collages are, due to their sheer size, really small as previews on the respective weapon page and the weapon type gallery (speak: Gallery of Staves. While viewing a whole gallery, such collages are a bit disruptive. Not to mention they take quite a while to load or do not load at all sometimes, as for example in the case of File:The Bifrost.jpg. Another example (not for the galleries), would be [[:File:Nevermore raven spirit transformation.jpg]] -- this one is a beast of a file that wouldn't even load for me on my phone earlier this day. I'd recommend turning this one into a .gif if you can (that'd be really terrific as moving pictures are even greater than static ones).
- Instead of collages, feel free to upload the images separately or choose the best one (that is usually a close-up) -- and do not fret to replace main images with your better quality shots. However, most of the time one shot of a weapon should suffice if there are no particularly fancy effects.
- Other than this, I also recommend not using asura or other non-humanoid for previewing equipment (as you did in [[:File:Lightward's Battlestaff draw.jpg]], in this case it distracts a lot from the actual weapon. (Besides, the angle is weird and one back shot would be enough, in my opinion.) We generally use human females (alternatively human males or norn females) for equipment screenshots (you can find an explanation here).
- That's it pretty much, apologies for rambling, and happy wiki-ing! Also, please sign your comments with four tildes (~) talk 14:58, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
Hello, I will pick one good picture and use human female as model in future. Thank you for letting me know what not to do and still being nice. Very appreciate that :) And thanks for the tip for 4 tildes!Nikeira (talk) 17:00, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

Hey Nikeira,
First off; thanks for uploading all these pictures of hard to get items; it's much appreciated. One thing which would save you some works (and also make the images consistent with the wiki) is to stop doing those "collages". It is much preferred that you have 2 different images of the same weapon; one stowed and one wielded; than having both images in 1.
If you look at, for example, Matthias's Assaulter Staff you can see that having 2 separate pictures allows for an easier overview of the weapon itself in either situation. -Darqam (talk) 00:49, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
