looks good, at least I like it. Is there anyway to get the gif to start playing inside the frame instead of going to another page? Venom20 03:07, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yes. For some reason, gifs play even as thumbnails here. Chriskang uploaded a still image for use, which is why it's not playing. :P -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 03:16, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- The water droplet is kind of dodgy, we need some for earth, fire, water and air :P --Naut 15:21, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- That's just a placeholder, Naut. I'm not suggesting to use this icon. We'll have to design a clean one, and indeed we'll need one for each element. Chriskang 15:27, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Urhm, what about for other professions though? I mean they might not be as easily depicted for images. For example Motivation and Command from the paragon is hard to depict as an image.. Unless one is provided by Anet. --Naut 15:35, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- I added icons because 3 people suggested to do so in the other thread (Manifold, Itay Alon and 76.179.156.33). If we find out that it's too complicated to have them, we can just remove them. I'll keep creating news designs on this page in the next few days and then we'll discuss what we like and what we don't on each of them. Chriskang 17:23, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- The difference between Motivation and Watter Attunement is that Water Attunement is usable, and might have an in-game icon (even though it's not on your skill bar, there may be a[n] [Damage] Effects Monitor like GW has). In this case, we would probably just not include any icon for Motivation, unless it also has an in-game icon (or we could get a picture of money, that is definitely motivation :D). -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 18:11, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- lol at sparky. Though money is a good motivator. I like the icon idea, the image seems "whole" with it Venom20 18:17, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Don't like it, sorry. It's look like you did it in the WORD. and about the icons... I talked only about skill icon. -- Itay Alon • Talk 19:04, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- It's alright, but I think it could be a lot better. Eive 19:09, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'll try do something after we will finish with the main page. -- Itay Alon • Talk 19:10, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- I just had an idea, why don't we move the attunement down next to the weapon, as in it takes up a part of that bar, and put the type of skill it is where attunement is. Fits all the criteria I put up over here and can be universally used for every profession that we know of.--Corsair

If this is a suggestion for the mainspace, I have to say that it looks far too unprofessional atm imo. --Odal talk 20:47, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
- How so? --Naoroji 21:35, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
- I dunno, it's just kinda bland and, too big. I don't think you need any pictures or animations, think about the work you'll have to do to get all the animations when the game comes out. Some pages will have animations, some won't, it'll look untidy. And I don't like the lack of "sections". Everything is just in a big box, I know we don't want to look like GWW, but if we kind try to split the box up, add some colour and make it smaller, it could look a lot better in my opinion. I think we should by all means start collecting animations, but don't put them in yet imo. --Odal talk 10:27, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
- Imo, the colors have to go. They will start to clash and hurt people's eyes at some point in race/profession/weapon combo, and currently look kind of ugly. :\ The staff icon is too big, but I figure we'll use a generic inventory icon eventually, so those aren't too much of an issue. I like including the image or a video, especially since GW2 is supposed to have flashy animations. -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 17:30, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
- Just want to throw this out there, but I don't think having a skill animation is really needed. It's fun at first when the game hasn't been released yet; however, it will eventually get really annoying. IMO Venom20 20:15, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
- Animations are legitimate documentation as much as anything else on these wikis. If a single 240-pixel image is annoying enough that you think it should be nixed, I think that's fine; the GWW just has a "click to see animation" link and it's never been a problem. Still, the image (the current version) looks spiffy to me, and of course we could probably replace the energy/cast/recharge images when we get new ones. --Kyoshi (Talk) 20:26, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- I maintain that text should show clearly whether they are links (blue and red) - their colour shouldn't be forced to be white or black. This is a fundamental aspect of wiki text, so if that means we need to rethink background colours, then we should rethink background colours. pling 20:33, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, that's a good point. --Kyoshi (Talk) 20:40, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- I took the idea here and changed it slightly here. I agree that animations should be documented, but I think, IMO, that a single link would be sufficient. In my sample, the animation links are on a grey background and still show their purple hue (to show they are links) Venom20 20:47, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
