dpl-smw hybrids are cheating right. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:02, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

meh looks like rarity didn't work in the end. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:14, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
Oh crap, you are actually using those outdated DPL templates. Dammit. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 19:25, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
Didn't think it would be an issue lol. its been so long since I've used dpl I couldn't recall how to do it with format =¶¦ etc.. I was pretty close, but I couldn't get a simple #if to work since I was getting random new columns from somewhere D; -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:56, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Times[edit]

Most of those just look like peak euro user hours. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:50, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

newlines[edit]

I have no idea how {{Item stat}} generates a newline on each usage. Its only {{Attribute}} preceded by a colon (seems to be key), the noinclude is placed such that it doesn't cause any newlines.. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:58, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

its just something that happens when you put two templates in a row with a : sign at the start of them. the same happens for variables, but not for regular text. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:03, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
Yeeeeeeah... I remember having a bugger of a time figuring that out myself a couple years ago, working on one of these various list templates. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 19:11, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
I just added all the abbreviations to Template:Attribute, looks like you already expanded them in here. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 19:20, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
true, but when I started on this sandbox earlier I originally intended to create a new template which used the same format for storing the semantic properties - meaning I could use the same template result for the #set. Everyone apart from me is probably fine with using the shorthand notation. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:38, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

Has skill facts?[edit]

What do you intend doing with these html stuff? Just curious! If I'd add facts, I'd choose a more structured format (like template itself). – Valento msg 18:54, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

Ignore this, I'll follow up here. – Valento msg 18:57, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

Gem Store questions[edit]

Currently we write out the descriptions each time an item appears. Since we're already SMW-ing the name and icon, we should be pulling the description off another page.

Question 1: Why don't we have an infobox / a template for gem store items?

I've discussed this briefly with Greener, but I don't think we should display the dollar/euro/pound price column.

Question 2: Do you use the Gem Store page, do you read the dol-euro bit that converts gem to real world prices?

--Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:57, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

For question #1: usually if an item is sold somewhere, properties are set on the vendor page. If we want to set availability and sales on the item page instead, I'd suggest this:
  • (Something like) {{Item infobox/gem store}}: basically {{Item infobox}}, but with more parameters to set availability, amount/price, in-game categories, saved as SMW properties.
  • Add another template for all gem store item pages: header and row template to track availability and sales for the current item, SMW properties set as well.
  • For the Gem Store page, replace content with template that has one #ask query to get all available items for sale for the specified category.
    • For pages like Gem Store/Halloween that list historical sales, have another template that allows a parameter to include all items with their gem price.
For question #2: Personally I like having that information already calculated for me on the page, even though I rarely use the page. Maybe remove these from the bigger tables and put another table on the Gem Store page that lists the commonly used prices below 1000 gems in $/€/£? Or add these prices as a html title tag on the gem price?
Nefastu 21:58, 11 July 2017 (UTC)
Cannot really answer question 1, but it would be nice to have I guess. I agree with Nefastu on question 2, having a table at the top of the page with the conversion rates of certain milestones would suffice (right now it's mostly just repetitive and redundant information plastered over and over again, besides there are more currencies that are not represented). I'd rather see a discount column instead. User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 11:21, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Oh Boy[edit]

Look at these price spikes of the tonics, what the fuck. 1300g :DD User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 21:53, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

Yeah about 5 minutes after I bought my 12g tonic it was 20g... and I'd consumed it. :D (trading fail) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:56, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
They do not bind, you can still sell it. God, if Tyndel sells his tonics now he'd be one rich guy. I could make some quick cash and sell my hoodie tonic but... User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 21:59, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
What's with the crazy spike all of a sudden? I mean I know Wintersday started but...I don't see the relation unless all the roleplayers decided to go crazy or something. - Doodleplex 21:59, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
By "consumed" I mean I've used it Inc and turned it into an outfit which cannot be sold on the TP (no item anymore iu my inventory).
The update added an Asura Black Lion Trader Merchant NPC to Lion's Arch (adjacent to main TP area), this NPC swaps endless tonics (30 minute consumable items in your inventory) for outfits (dyable, can permanently switch on/off, can switch headpiece on/off). Players knew that there was a limited stock of them on the TP, so the price can only go up as stocks diminish when players convert their tonics to outfits (apart from the traders making easy money on it). -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 22:04, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
So now these tonics are outfits? Huh. Wonder if they'll be added to the Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock then. - Doodleplex 22:13, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Wait. The outfits are live?? Ooooooh. User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 22:15, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

You didn't think I'd breach some sort of secret oath did you? :D -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 22:44, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
I'm going to give a Glomar response response to the above. So do we need to make a bunch of new outfit pages or are the tonic pages fine as is? - Doodleplex 22:58, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
The tonics still exist, they're fine. We do need new outfit pages though - we can choose to use the same images or not depending on if we feel like taking 13*5*3*2=390 images. Personally I vote for using existing images :D -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:08, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
I agree on the same image thing, though we probably do need some asura and charr? I dunno, I'm busy glaring at the Black Lion Chest for changing itself again lol. - Doodleplex 23:15, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

Stop sleeping[edit]

Since you are probably sleeping on the Discord, I think having a balance subpage for each class in the main space is not a bad idea. ~Sime 15:26, 20 March 2021 (UTC)

Could turn it into a template and form. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:04, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
Template:Balance patch profession query / Form:Balance patch profession query. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:26, 20 March 2021 (UTC)

Coordinates update[edit]

The coordinates should now be updated on all of these pages (with the exception of Llama Roundup as it's on a different continent) Kaela Pyremaw (talk) 15:44, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
