Origin of family mesmerism: Chin family Mesmers began in the time of Lady Isra Amara (known as the Chin Mother of Mesmers) when she married Xou Chin around 1075AE. At the birth of their second child, a girl, Lady Isra began to teach her daughter what she knew of being a Mesmer and of mesmerism. She started a tradition that her daughter has continued till present day GW2. Although the oldest daughters of the Chin clan are not direct descendants of Lady Isra, the males who were through her first son (Xou Chin II) married only women who were Mesmers so that they could teach the oldest daughter about mesmerism

Ancestory:

Nina Chin comes from the Great Line of the Chin family and is a descendent of Prince Xou Chin. She is predominately Canthan but is also Krytan due to Xou Chin's marriage of the Vabbi noble, Lady Isra Amara who was of Krytan heritage, and the intermarrying of the Chin clan and Krytan citizens during the 1100's AE. Nina was born among the nobility in Divinity's Reach 1305AE. Her own mother trained Nina in her magical studies and, she became a paragon to street rats, commoners, and fellow nobles alike.

Early Life(1310-1320AE):

Starting at the age of five, Nina was schooled by her mother in the arts of magic and she went to a grammer school in the Salma District of Divinty's Reach. She often strayed from home as a young child and went to the commoner's market where she helped those in need. She began to use her magic to benefit others. Nina became the top student in her grammer schooling class and was best at magic among many of her peers. Towards her mid teens, she began to learn of the Centaur threats of her homeland as well as the pending dangers of the Elder Dragons. Just a few years later, she would decide to explore the world, help all in need, and defend Kryta and Tyria from threats big and small.

Nina Chin appeared in the first GW2 open beta test as a necromancer character. Despite this she is a mesmer in the actual game.
