Unnamed Prefixes[edit]

How are you handling "prefixes" that don't have standard names?

  • The boon/healing/magic find combo appears as a prefix on crafted trinkets; crafted trinkets use the name of the gemstone (in this case "snowflake") instead of the standard prefix. I could see an argument for listing this as "winter" (since the corresponding suffix is "...of Winter"), and/or for adding gemstone names as synonyms for all the relevant prefixes (e.g. "ruby" becomes a synonym for "berserker").
  • The 8-attribute combo appears only on items with unique names (e.g. Ancient Karka Shell), so we don't know its official name. I've been calling it "celestial" after the sPvP amulet.
  • The precision/power/toughness combo appears as a suffix ("...of the Knight") from emerald upgrades, but also appears on some ascended items (as both "prefix" and "suffix"). "Knight" is already used for a different combo (toughness/power/precision).
  • The vitality/power/healing combo currently appears only as a suffix ("...of the Shaman"), but creating a separate "suffix attributes" template that's 95% the same as the prefix template seems pretty silly. "Shaman" is already used for a different combo (vitality/cond damage/healing).

We could consider just making up arbitrary names for the existing stat combos that don't have official ones (I'm assuming we can add official ones as synonyms if they ever exist). Maybe "of the knight" gets called "squire", for example. --Felbryn 22:51, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

I'm going to leave the variables parameter in the infoboxes for cases like that (and for "celestial" stuff). There's no need to make up names for this template. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 00:05, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
You've done all the work of creating this useful template that saves people work and greatly reduces the chances of errors, but you're going to prevent it from being used for perfectly valid prefixes based solely on the fact that you don't know what to call them? I think that's a serious mistake. Plus, you already made up names to distinguish the six different "giver's" prefixes—how is making up placeholder names for other prefixes any worse? --Felbryn 00:25, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
Eventually, I'm also going to update {{item stat}} to make the second parameter "major" or "minor" instead of a number, and it will still set the value from the lookup tables. That probably won't happen for a long time, though.
How common are these unnamed combinations, though? If you can show me more than a few items with a given combination, then fine, make up a name and add it to this. Otherwise, the benefit would be miniscule. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 02:54, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

New PoF stat set[edit]

I heard it was called Grievous? But I don't know if that's final or not. From the beta weekend, there are weapons that have the following:

  • 91 Power
  • 50 Precision
  • 91 Healing Power
  • 50 Condition Damage

AKA: Major: Power and Healing Power. Minor: Precision and Condition Damage. --Rain Spell (talk) 23:42, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
