This or gww[edit]
Is there a reason this is preferred to Template:gww? Venom20 18:18, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- This one can be fitted into the page as a bullet in the "Trivia" section. The other adds a floating box on the right side of the page, which can screw up the page layout. IMO both of them should be scoured from the face of this wiki (sharing a name is hardly noteworthy when 95% of the time the functionality is completely different). —Dr Ishmael 18:57, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- I tend to agree, there is very little value that this lends to a skill page. I can see a small value on non-sklil pages, such as lore pages of this 'bullet' format (ie fits into). Also, the inconsistency that both are used liberally on arbitrary skill pages is cringe worthy. Venom20 19:27, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- I find that on the gww side, the template works well when there's some sort of "growth" or relationship to show: "You think Wild Blow is neat? Take a look what it will grow up into!" In many cases, though, the educated rooster above speaks the truth: Related by name only, isn't too interesting.
- On this wiki, I don't think there are too many gw2 players that would be interested enough in the past to warrant a template. G R E E N E R 19:28, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Venom: Lore-type stuff is definitely worth noting the relationship to GW1, since the games are directly related and whatnot. However, we usually write out the trivia note in order to explain the relationship, thus we don't use templates for them.
- I think I'll kick off a community portal discussion on this. Although I'm sure we'll get 1 person saying, "No, keep them, there's certainly someone who finds them useful," and end up doing nothing. >.> —Dr Ishmael 21:32, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hah, isn't that the way it generally goes? Venom20 21:58, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
My case for reconsideration of this template is now in the Community Portal Turbo404 (talk) 01:47, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
