What is the purpose...[edit]

Has anyone else figured out what the point is of this area? I can only find one sand portal that has you teleport to a second one... that then only teleports you back to where you started. And the Vet Awakened that you can challenge to a fight is bugged and won't initiate the fight. But you can just open the chest it is guarding anyways. It seems like this area had a JP feel to it, but nothing makes sense. — MagicFind

There's a page for one of the Vabbi achievements near the chest, and since you can't get to it without a jackal, it serves as a mastery check for completing the collection. And there's a strong piece of lore here: this is where the useless mummies are dumped. Still conscious. Still loyal. But they weren't good enough to pass their training at the Necropolis, so they're just abandoned, like ugly fruit at the supermarket. They weren't even worth the effort of killing again. --Idris (talk) 22:43, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
I suspect that that the portals being useless is part of the point. These are exit points over a dumping ground - they aren't intended for two-way travel, or indeed for player use. It would have been nice if there had been an entry up near the nobles or elsewhere on the map that led here. SarielV 20 x 20px 22:36, 14 September 2024 (UTC)

Feedback 2018/03/25[edit]

The chest behind the Veteran Discarded Awakened can be opened without challenging him; at least I was just able to do so on an alt there for the first time though I had previously challenged him on a different character. I walked behind the chest and opened it without any aggro from the discarded. --71.246.233.211 19:33, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

Correct, there's a fairly long timer after defeating the awakened where you don't have to challenge them again. I've revised the notes. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:41, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
