Talk:Summer (cycle)

I disagree with the Deleted because it;s a speculation cause it IS stated. at very first it wouldn't be posted at the Sylvari page to. else you could delete that to. so there's no need for it. i just added what is stated.

It is not stated on the sylvari page that the season affects a sylvari appearance. It was at one point, but that too was speculation. The seasonal alignments may not be significant enough to need pages. There are links on the sylvari page because they may need to be created eventually, but the red links indicate that there is not a substantial amount of information on whether they are significant or not. For all we know, they could just affect the appearance and not have much to do with the game. It is a fact that players will choose a time of day and become aligned with a season, but it is not a fact that the season affects the appearance of a sylvari or has any other relevance within the game. By the way, you didn't need to post the same thing on every single season's talk page.-- Shew 19:10, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

I dissagree with that again. on a concept art there was one named autumn Sylvari. itt's been shown this male Sylvari had Orange/Red Colors/skins/leaves. this indicates that appearance IS affected by Season.

Whether or not the appearance thing is speculation, this page shouldn't be deleted in my opinion. Just write something like "This is one of the Sylvari seasons." And maybe say it's your season if you were born in day and just do that for all of the seasons. It's practically what all the other things say, like the College of Statics. Loremaster, inferring character customization from concept art is speculation no matter how obvious it may seem. I think you guys are right about leaving the page, though. It'll just be tagged as a stub.-- Shew 19:49, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
The only thing we know about the seasons is that they're linked to the times of day and that they affect the storyline. We don't know if they actually do affect the appearance (your proof is concept art - i.e., may not be like such in the game) and I don't think we even know which time of day fits with which seasons. We only have speculation which states day=summer, twilight=fall, night=winter, and dawn=spring - is that proven? Not to my knowledge (but I may be wrong). These pages are, or will be, highly significant, but there's not enough information yet. -- Konig/talk 21:34, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
I know that there's not enough information, but might as well leave them here as a sort of placeholder, again pointing to my example on colleges, those don't really have enough information either but they're still there. Taros 21:53, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
Konig - it isn't speculation that Spring==Dawn &c. - the art book says it page 63. -- Aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 22:22, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
