Merge and/or move[edit]

A lot of the information provided was redundant with nature spirit. However, this article initially talks about the skills that summon spirits and not the spirits themselves.

So what should it be? Merge, move, or neither? --Riddle 23:58, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, with all this riveting discussion and heated debate, I figure I will set a deadline. If no one has objected to my plan (below) by Thursday 19:00 UTC (12:00 PM PDT), then I will proceed with the following:
I will move any relevant information to Nature spirit, and then move this article to Spirit skill, and then redirect this article to Nature spirit. Any objections? --Riddle 07:13, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
  • cough9monthscough* - Anyway, I agree with the merge. --Xu Davella 03:56, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Duration[edit]

In BWE1, spirits had a duration. It was not listed in the tooltip, but after an amount of time they disappeared. Was this also the case in BWE2 and stress test or did they remove that? Gnarf 20:53, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Range[edit]

How far do the effects of spirits reach? This isn't listed anywhere that I can locate. ~Vallen Frostweaver

I can't say exactly, but for a rough estimate, it seems to be ranged weapon range (~1200)--C29o 21:25, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Cooldown[edit]

Does anybody else think there is a cooldown on how often a spirit can give its effect? I don't see one stated, unless I'm blind and don't see it stated anywhere; but I proc a lot less than 50% of the time, seems a lot more than just me being unlucky. I thought maybe you could proc only 1 spirit at a time and they get in the way of each other (similar to cooldowns on effect on crit sigils if you have two equipped, I thought I was getting the effect of frost spirit and not others) but when I tested with just one spirit, I still did not proc as often as I felt like I should with the sun or stone spirit. (After some testing with sun and stone spirit, I amm going to assume that there is a 10 second cooldown on the Sun Spirit and Stone Spirit, and they don't get in the way of each other like weapon sigils do)--C29o 21:08, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

The spirit skill descriptions need to be updated--Relyk 21:41, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
Looks like they just updated it yesterday. Looks like I was correct, dang and I was hoping they could be useful, oh well.--C29o 15:37, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Boon/Condition Duration[edit]

It looks like the duration of boons applied is based on the Boon Duration of whoever gains the boon, and not the ranger that owns the spirit. I tested this using my pet, with both Concentration Training and without. Without, Storm Spirit granted the normal 8s of Swiftness. With Concentration Training, my pet received 12s of Swiftness. --50.72.153.57 04:05, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Effect recharge[edit]

I'm confused about the effect recharge, it is effect recharge per player (once it triggers, it cannot trigger again for the same player for 10 seconds but can trigger for other affected player) or effect recharge per trigger (once it triggers, it cannot trigger again for 10 seconds for any player affected by the spirit)? --Rapid Sausage 15:04, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

I assume it's the latter. The way the description sounds, it seems like the spirit's skill affects everyone in the area and then goes on cooldown. I can't be 100% sure as all tests I did before they stated the cooldown were by myself, but I am fairly sure you can think of it as a skill that goes on recharge once it activates.--C29o 15:59, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

AoE Limit[edit]

is there a limit to the number of people who can benefit from the passive effects of the spirits? I'm assuming it's 5 like everything else, but I don't know of anything to prove that.173.88.250.197 22:58, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

I can confirm that it's 5 allies only.70.29.225.154 01:50, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
Shouldn't that be added to the main page, then? That's a very important limitation. (Which makes spirits not worth the effort in my humble opinion.) I'm glad I read about it here before trying to use spirits to support WvW zergs. --Amplifiction (talk) 14:24, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Feedback 2018/04/03[edit]

Spirit effects do not stack. They over-write one another. You cannot proc them twice, but if you have the trait they do pulse their boons individually, supplementing one another, but the unique effects [free burning, bonus damage] does not. --97.104.193.206 06:09, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Image move[edit]

Is there anyway to move the image to be above the line or something? There's a lot of whitespace. SpaceNerd95251 (talk) 23:27, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Moved it lower, how's it look now? --Dak393 (talk) 00:07, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
I am not sure what it helped to achieve? The white space is still there, just the picture is cramped in the Notes. Imho looks much worse. ~Sime 00:09, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
I'll move it up above then, you'll still get white space gap before the list on some smaller resolutions but does that look better to you? --Dak393 (talk)
Well unfortunately not everything can be optimized for small monitors, often if you try to fix something for them you will very likely mess it up for people with normal/larger sizes. ~Sime 00:15, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

Affected by boons[edit]

I've noticed that spirits can have regen applied to them, which does increase their health and consequently let's them last longer. Can anyone confirm if they can be affected by all boons, and if so, whether we should note this? SpaceNerd95251 (talk) 23:28, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Spirits are allies (at least till the next patch) and part of your "kennel" for boon priority. Yes all boons can be applied like you'd expect, but there isn't much of a point besides regen (and that usually won't be there in groups anyways due to priority). If they managed to get say quickness they would do their animation faster after the command, but again it's all really minor and not relevant imo. --Dak393 (talk) 00:07, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
