Used Itzel Spirit Poison when defeated

I forgot to use the Itzel Spirit Poison before the fight and only remembered after I had been defeated. I used it while defeated just in case, and I was awarded the Spirit Strings when my raid group completed the encounter successfully. The article suggests that the effect could be removed by being downed, but it seems as though reapplication would work. This is difficult to test, as success it once per account. -- Dashface 03:52, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Updated to coffer

After seeing this update I went back through some old images and (assuming the screens are correct) I collect the bouncy chest from KC with the buff active and no Strings (unlike the gors Spirit Thread which is that/from the boss itself). A second screen shot shows opening the coffer with no Itzel Poison on my bar and still collecting the strings (I believe same day but the images have been moved and original data lost). Here's where it came from: I killed KC finally for the first time last month(June 27th to be exact), with the effect active (I have a screenshot, I was quite excited), but did not open the bouncy chest until later since I was so excited that I got the kill. By the time I did open it, the effect had warn off, and I didn't get the Strings. I contacted support, who unfortunately the person I got was less than helpful(copied and pasted off the wiki, well okay then), so I needed to find another group to do KC with and wanted to make sure I got it the next time. I asked a fellow achievement hunter & guild mate who I knew raided, and she said that the effect has to be active for the bouncy chest, and that she and her raid group had carried several people to get the strings, instructing them to use the poison before opening the bouncy chest. Her raid group then helped me get another KC kill, and with the effect active while opening the bouncy chest, I got my Spirit Strings two days ago, 7/10. I figure if we instruct people to have it active during the fight and opening the chests, they should be able to get their strings without any issues. - Do_odleplex 18:55, 12 July 2020 (UTC)

Ah so yeah that confirms what I was saying that it is collection of the box not opening the box itself. I wonder if that box is unique or if it stacks with other KC boxes. Yanaru (talk) 00:43, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
