Talk:Potion of PvP Reward

every 2 potions will grant you one "step" towards the next reward. Alternately, 8 potions give you 10% progress, which is 1.25% per. -Narz 203.109.217.171 08:14, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

Actually, it seems like each potion will grant exactly 250 points, meaning exactly the same as above. --Funky Jah (talk) User Funky Jah icon.jpg 22:29, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
Wrong, its 400 pts. 1% every time. Page fixed. Do not revert it to your wrong figures. (Also had to fix the reward track page which was wrong as well, its 40000 per track, not 20000. Maybe that's where you went wrong. Puk (talk) 11:18, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
I'm certain it was noticeably over 1% for me a few days ago - somewhere between 1.15% and 1.4%; so 1.25% sounded right (no active pvp buff at that time, so that should be a base value). 1% can be right only if this is a recent change. Why do you think 1% is the correct number?
Verified that 1.25% is a correct value. 8 potions give 10% progress, 10 potions give precisely 1 tier (12.5%) Roxer 4 January 2015
Mmm yep it is 500 pts, my bad. I got irate at the fact that the reward track page stated 20,000 pts per track, and whoever created this page just copy pasted that, instead of knowing that its 40k, or looking at the sPvP page for confirmation. 2 potions per reward is correct. Are they affected by the celebration/birthday boosters +10% reward track progress?

I just noticed the icon has a giant 250 on the Potion, but my tests show that one reward is 600 points and a whole tier is 3000 points, so if the Potion gives half a Reward, it has to be 300. start: http://i.imgur.com/eRTVXuo.jpg end: http://i.imgur.com/xVMuujf.jpg So I'm a bit confused about the 250 on the icon, but it's clear that it has to be 300 points

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that different tracks have different point totals, and that this potion gives a fixed % of total track progress. -Narz 203.109.217.171 22:56, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
Whhhhaaaat? You know when you win a match and get rank? You get the same amount of reward track pts too. So when I win 1500 pts, I get a chest. Then when I win another match and get another 1500 pts, I get two chests, because that is 3000 pts. What the heck are you guys smoking? Puk (talk) 09:58, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

Actual points[edit]

Okay, enough reverting and “correcting” with different numbers now. Get your facts straight first now. Do proper research and provide proof of the numbers before adding them back into the article. poke | talk 08:06, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

I give up, if my screenshots weren't proof enough and everything was reverted by Puk anyways I see no point anymore in doing this, wanted to help the wiki once and just being called out for providing wrong info (despite providing solid proof) can't stand this...
Your pictures proved nothing, look at them closer, maybe you linked the wrong ones from your screens folder. Picture 1 shows you have 12,721 progress through an undisclosed rank between 50-59, picture 2 then shows you have gained about 5855 rank points (which according to you, are not linear with reward points) in what I presume is the same rank level, and then for some reason, shows a nearly full reward bar, with no indication of what the reward % was before you started or even how you "tested" and "proved" anything. I would put this rebuttal on your talk page, but since you remain anonymous I cannot. Puk (talk) 10:08, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Here's the full album with all screenshots I took from start to finish http://imgur.com/a/1WD8W, the first screenshot was from my first match, the last was right before I hit the 2 Tiers Reward cap, the little difference I rounded up to 6000. The rewards can't be set apart at 1000 points because you can nearly fill them with a win (500 points) each round. /sky Edit: and the non linear part wasn't from me
And here's why everything you've said so far does not make sense. Proof: http://imgur.com/WAHblQZ,nP6lgAj,Az1cdFr#2 here you will find 3 pictures. The first shows minimal progress through the first tier and a ranked match about to begin (this is important later). The second picture shows a zoomed out version of that same tier and puts it at 11% progression. The final picture shows a total of 14% progression through the track, after match reward of 1510 ranks pts has been awarded. I was too slow to catch the value in the bottom right, but the progress on my rank bar at the bottom is proof enough. Now some simple math: Today, I played and won 3 matches each awarding me 1510 pts. I progressed 3%, 4%, then 3% again in the track. This means that 1510 pts lies somewhere between 3% and 4% of the total reward track. I contest that the track is 40,000 pts long, and hence, that 1510 pts is exactly 3.775% of 40,000. This coincides with my findings, and also my proof. If you can't disprove me, I'll be back in a week to edit this article to what it should actually be. Puk (talk) 12:58, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
I see your point now after trying out unranked Arena, it seems to me now, we were both right. There seems to be a difference between costum arena and un/ranked, because 1500 rankpoints from unranked dont give the same progress as 500 points from costum arena, check the above album, after 2 matches and 2x~500 points I almost get the Transmutation charge. Here after one win in ranked arena with 1500points I dont get anywhere as near to the charge. http://imgur.com/qwBG9uG So maybe we can add that to the Reward track page and leave the Potion page at the %-based progress without giving it a rank point value.
Yes, I do see that. Good compromise, I never expected us both to be right.. *edit Also, sorry for being an ass. Puk (talk) 03:01, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
Haha, didn't expect to find people discussing/testing just a couple days ago. If you didn't already see, it looks like this whole thing is finally laid to rest. I've updated both this article and PvP Reward Track with all the information we have right. Veron (talk) 20:53, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
yes, I saw the linked red post from the dev today, finally sheds some lights on this and I'm happy to see we now know how this thing works :) /sky
