Duplicate Giver's Pearl weapons

Just noticed that the weapons table on this page is currently broken. This is probably due to some of the Giver's weapons having their own pages currently: [[Giver's Pearl Conch]], [[Giver's Pearl Rod]], [[Giver's Pearl Quarterstaff]], [[Giver's Pearl Brazier]], [[Giver's Pearl Trident]], and [[Giver's Pearl Broadsword]]. They do appear as duplicates on Giver's Orichalcum-Imbued Inscription#Used in as well and probably on some other pages too.

I'd mark them for deletion or replace them with redirects, but I'm unsure whether this would be the right approach, which is why I'm posting the discussion here. How to proceed? —Blackice (talk) 21:51, 19 December 2017 (UTC)

That's because basically the pages got made twice as they already existed on the respective Pearl weapon's pages, just with their old id's. They should be tagged for deletion. - Do_odleplex 03:01, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

I tagged the pages listed above for deletion and double-checked that all the item and recipe IDs for the new Giver's Pearl weapons are available on the overview pages (i.e. on Pearl Conch, Pearl Rod, etc.). These should be fine to delete now. —Blackice (talk) 20:09, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

Thaaaat's probably a bunch of my fault... didn't catch on to format for pearl weapons until I was into quite a few pages and then must have missed a few :/. Oh well that's what admins are for right? Not sure if you folks fixed it back in January, but the table's broken as of June. There aren't any duplicate articles marked as part of the Pearl weapons set, so that's probably not the cause of the current issue. {{Weapon set table}} seems to be working fine on other articles. --Idris (talk) 08:38, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

Recording the discord conversation here for future readers:

The weapon set template used SMW to figure out the number of rowspans to apply. When the number of rowspans is wrong, tables look weird.

Duplicated subobjects are a big problem on our crafted item pages which have many subobjects on them - even perfect edits can accidentally cause them. It seems that pages with increased number of subobjects are more likely to duplicate their properties somewhere in the background. SMW #ask/#show format=count shows a number higher than expected when duplicated properties are involved. You can preview {{User:Chieftain Alex/Templates/Subobject debug}} on a weapon set article to show you which articles have duplicate subobjects.

Since we can't fix this issue of duplicating properties, I've simplified the layout of {{weapon set table}} template to not use rowspans. -Chieftain Alex 20:41, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
