Missing icons[edit]

gw2db is known to have a bunch of dud items on their pages, but there are a few discrepancies between items named here and there:

  • Orrian smasher - listed as "Orrian Warhammer" on gw2db
  • Orrian spear - listed as "Orrian Harpoon" on gw2db
  • Orrian speargun - listed as "Orrian Harpoon Gun" on gw2db
  • Doesn't exist at all on gw2db: Orrian Torch / Orrian Warhorn / Dagger / Longsword
    • For the dagger, I think I've guessed the correct icon since it matches the style, but I would prefer if someone would check.

Since I use the db to find which icons we're missing, I'm not going to upload any further icons for this set. Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:08, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

ok so it seems per user:Psycho Robot's edits, that the icons ingame probably don't match the api for these weapons.. (I've only checked a handful). Just for the record then, the orphaned files are:
  • Orrian Axe.png
  • Orrian Dagger.png
  • Orrian Mace.png
  • Orrian Pistol.png
  • Orrian Scepter.png
  • [[File:Bronze Sword.png]] - Orrian Sabre
  • Orrian Focus.png
  • Orrian Warhorn.png
  • Orrian Torch.png
  • Orrian Shield.png
  • Orrian Longsword.png
  • Orrian Smasher.png
  • Orrian Bow.png
  • Orrian Rifle.png
  • Orrian Short Bow.png
  • Orrian Staff.png

The PvP set differs from the PvE versions, that's the problem. The PvP set uses the fancy blue icons, except for aquatic weapons, while the PvE set (across all rarities and levels) uses the plain icons, except for pistol.

As an aside, the pistol icon is still incorrect, but I can't get a good screenshot of it because I don't have any level 60+ pistol users, so all the big icons have an exclamation mark on them. Psycho Robot (talk) 21:03, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
given the unique artwork of the icons, I'd use the pvp versions as the ones with stored ids, and their icons too. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:30, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
Just to make sure there's no confusion, PvP Orrian weapons share skins with Dragon's Deep weapons, and PvP Encrusted weapons share skins with these weapons. Psycho Robot (talk) 22:21, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
That explains why the PvP Orrian weapons have different icons. However, the Weapons of the Dragon's Deep do not use those icons - we have them wrong on the wiki - in-game they're exactly the same as the PvE Orrian weapons' icons. (Also the Dragon's Deep weapons aren't listed on the API, probably for the same reason that the rare/exotic inscription/insignia recipe sheets aren't listed.) —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 22:43, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
MY HEAD Psycho Robot (talk) 23:20, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
I was hoping to find some clarity in these, the darkest of times, so I went on a fact finding mission. I learned the following:
  • Weapons of Dragon's Deep (PvE) use generic weapon icons now
  • PvP Orrian Weapons (which have the same skins as Dragon's Deep) use the fancy looking icons enumerated above
  • PvP Encrusted Weapons (which have the same skins as PvE Orrian) use generic weapon icons but different than the PvE Orrian Weapons in some cases
  • PvP Encrusted Torch uses a generic trident icon
  • PvP Encrusted Short Bow uses the Orrian Longbow skin with an icon which is not generic and not dragon's deep
  • Why anet why Psycho Robot (talk) 02:26, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
revisited

see, when i deleted all those files above (them being duplicates and all of the current weapons of the deep icons, I was kind of hoping that they were correct :P if they're not, I can restore them. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:17, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

No, the pistol is the only one that changed. Every other one is still a generic icon. Psycho Robot (talk) 23:21, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
