Will all upgrade components from all items be lost?

- Yes, any weapon/armor/trinket that you use in the mystic forge for any recipe is destroyed (along with its upgrade components), and an entirely new item is generated. This also applies to infused and attuned rings even though the product seems to be the same item. Toraen - talk 17:31, 6 March 2016 (UTC)
Might want to add that there is a Bug in the Mystic forge in which the Recipe isn't recognized. For Example: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/4y1bgs/did_they_do_something_do_blade_shard_promotion/

It seems general consensus that the forge gives output 5+ levels higher than input, but the page reads 3. Looking back through the edit history, it seems that this changed occurred with this revision: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Mystic_Forge&oldid=863196 However, this attempt was made with exotics which are known to not abide by the rules. May I correct the level promotion total?
- Feel free, it's been ages since it was edited in, and I believe you're in the right. —Ventriloquist 21:16, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
Can every weapon be used?
- You can't add the cheapest items like "Old <weapon>" but the common (white) items which start with "Mighty <weapon>". The "Old <weapon>" items are aquired on character creation and can't be used in the mystic forge. -- das Keks 15:04, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
Lion's Arch Location
The trivia section at the bottom of the page still has the Lion's Arch location in the Western Ward when it's been moved back to the Trader's Forum at some point. Should this be corrected? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kaele Forester (talk • contribs).
