how do i find it?

I keep asking in chat but nobody seems to know how to find it. Ramei Arashi 01:35, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

It's in Lion's Arch, in the "center" of the market plaza, directly underneath the bar that hangs over the city. It's a bit hard to describe. There's a waypoint on the market plaza, which is almost adjacent to the Forge. - Infinite - talk 01:50, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
Perhaps we should make a location note on the page which states the closest waypoint and point of intrest. Also one should note that the forge is actually on the spot of the "Mystic PLaza" POI Drakeskull 13:15, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

This game reminds me of D2 on WoW, only better. --Skekzyz 22:03, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Research

Before the game launches, but after the last beta event I think it would be useful to create some kind of easy-to-add-to research page, where users can enter what items they put in and what item they got out. With the huge number of possible combinations of things you can throw in, research will be imperative to maximizing its use, and having such a project going from day one will maximize the data we can acquire. The same goes for Mystic Chests, and whatever those PvP rewards are called. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 01:41, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

I put in a forge stone, 2 axes and a greatsword and got out a VERY standard greatsword...that was just a little better than the sword i put in...was really hoping for an axe.--174.101.255.217 23:29, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

Crafting material upgrades

  • 250 unrefined tier 1 crafting material (e.g. green wood logs) + 1 tier 2 same material (soft wood logs) + 5 shimmering dust + 1 philosopher's stone = an amount of the tier 2 material (soft wood logs) (I got 80)
  • 250 refined tier 1 crafting material (e.g. cured rawhide leather squares) + 1 tier 2 same material (cured thin leather squares) + 5 shimmering dust + 2 philosopher's stones = an amount of the tier 2 material (cured thin leather squares) (I got 73)
  • 50 tier 1 crafting trophy (e.g. tiny venom sacs) + 1 tier 2 same trophy (small venom sacs) + 5 shimmering dust + 1 philosopher's stone = an amount of the tier 2 material (small venom sacs) (I got 11)

I would put forward a guess that the same basic pattern probably also applies with tier 2 + tier 3 + Radiant Dust.

- Tanetris 01:13, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Oh, also, 250 glittering dust + 1 shimmering dust + 1 crystal + 1 philosopher's stone = an amount of shimmering dust (2 tries, got 100 on the first, 74 on the second) - Tanetris 01:32, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
With some help from a friend who's been working on crafting, we managed to get our hands on a radiant dust, so I can now also confirm that:
  • 250 shimmering dust + 1 radiant dust + 2 crystals + 2 philosopher's stones = an amount of radiant dust (I got 60)
  • 250 unrefined tier 2 crafting material + 1 tier 3 same material + 5 radiant dust + 2 philosopher's stones = an amount of tier 3 material (I got 69)
  • 50 tier 2 crafting trophy + 1 tier 3 same trophy + 5 shimmering dust + 2 philosopher's stones = an amount of tier 3 trophy (I got 16)
So presumably 250 refined tier 2 crafting material + 2 tier 3 same material + 5 radiant dust + (4?) philosopher's stones would also get a similar amount of the tier 3 material, and presumably higher tiers also work with higher tier dust and more philosopher's stones. - Tanetris 03:32, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
What method are you using to figure this out? Did you literally just try random numbers of things that fit into the mystic forge, or was there a recipe or hint you found somewhere? RabidusIncendiary 07:32, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
I literally grabbed everything out of my bank on the last day of the weekend, bought one of each item from Miyani, and started trying combinations. Like regular crafting discovery, everything that doesn't fit with items already in grey out, and once you have 4 items that fit, it tells you the number needed of each, so at that point you just have to acquire sufficient amounts of them and see what it turns into. - Tanetris 13:42, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
Ah okay, I hadn't known it tells you the number needed somewhere. Anyways, nice work :) RabidusIncendiary 15:32, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
