Questions to test:

  1. Does echo use the original attack power or the mesmer's, or does it compute the attack strength some other way?
  2. Does level scaling interact in an unusual or interesting way? (hypothetical case: level 30 group vs level 40 boss and lvl 20 enemy support)
  3. Does mimic 'remember' the original attack's critical hit status, or does it recompute the critical chance? (e.g. sigil of intelligence)
  4. Same question for buffs and debuffs (weakness, might, sigil effects), or does it process both sets?
  5. Siege weapons/rifle burst skill
  6. Does the attack have to hit to get absorbed? (blind, block, dodge)

While I haven't tested any of these, given how most things work it will probably use the original projectile strength, not sure about crit. Whether weakness effects it depends on that crit question. Might probably won't, sigils probably will. It will catch the rifle skill, it probably won't catch siege weapons. They used to be blockable projectiles but guardians would be a bit overpowered with projectile blocking/reflecting. Dodging it will not catch it, blocking it should, not sure about blind though. Another legit question, For how long does it store the projectile? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rapid Sausage (talk • contribs) at 17:34, 18 August 2012 (UTC).
That would be 4 seconds listed as Duration. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 18:05, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
Aren't those 4 seconds the time window where a projectile can be absorbed?, like when you activate the skill, it does a blocking animation for 4 seconds, and if you are hit by a projectile during those 4 seconds, this projectile gets stored.--Rapid Sausage 19:00, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
Oh, right, I got that confused. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:16, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
Well that leaves us with an unanswered question, How long will mimic hold the absorbed projectile?!--Rapid Sausage 20:41, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I'd guess it would last until you use it, are downed, or change zones. ~Ekko (talk) 08:12, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

As far as I tested, reflected projectile uses your power, your critical chance (and recomputes it) and critical damage. MalGalad 13:21, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

This skill doesn't seem to do ANYTHING listed except allow you to use Echo. doesn't even block the first projectile -Reikken 10:15, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

It's a bit unreliable. Most of time it's possible to block a projectile, usually absorb and succesfully redirect it, but sometimes Mimic seems to fail to do a thing. Mediggo 11:14, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Would love to see this skill turn into something useful, as it stands it's really a bit too conditional for any situation, be it PvE or PvP. Lou Wolfskin (talk) 09:40, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

All the comments above are obsolete. The skill now sets the recharge of another utility to 1 sec.
