Env. Weapon[edit]

It seems that this is the Env. Weapon combination of a Firewall + Throw Axe. Tomoko 09:02, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

It's actually one of two skills of Lava Axe, an environmental weapon created by Conjure Flame. Though it doesn't state so anywhere in the article. Mediggo 09:10, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Damage and Cast Time[edit]

The damage quoted here does not agree with the tooltip and actual in game damage. Can someone confirm this? Wiki: 358. Mists, no gear: 311, which becomes 260 when corrected for the 180 power bonus. The Wiki should list 260. The auto attack seems to repeat after 1.0s. Don't have precise frame count or such, just timing between 1st and 25th hit and dividing by 24. Abraxax (talk) 06:11, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Similar problem exists for Explosive Lava Axe (other damage numbers seem correct): Wiki: 696, in game 605, corrected for bonus 506. Abraxax (talk) 06:10, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

That is aftercast delay to account for the additional .5 seconds. The skill was recently updated, so it my be off for that or someone didn't take into account the 180 power.--Relyk ~ talk < 13:03, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
The recharge time is what's shown in-game on the skill tooltip. It's the time it takes for the skill to go from the end of one activation sequence to being ready to use again. The "activation sequence" has a non-zero duration, so the attack-cycle time is necessarily longer than the recharge time. Only when the activation sequence is instant will the recharge time match the attack-cycle time. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 13:26, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
Yes. I suggest adding the comment "Attack speed is approximately 1.0 seconds per attack." just like for Ice Shards. Abraxax (talk) 05:00, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

AoE[edit]

If someone feels like doing some research, try to find the approximate AoE radius for this skill. I know that it's very small, certainly no bigger than Explosive Shot's radius, but it does exist. Not sure if the skill always had this property or they stealth-added it at some point... but you can test it by throwing an axe at neutral creatures, or critters, that are standing really close together. You'll get aggro and damage/kill both of them, as long as they're standing ~right on top of each other. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 05:09, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Edit: I ran around Bloodtide Coast trying to reproduce the AoE and wasn't able to, which means it's either REALLY REALLY SMALL (hard to make enemies stand on top of each other) or I was mistaken somehow. I'm pretty sure of what I saw, though. If I throw an axe at a Sparkfly, and it dies, but I get aggro from a Blue Moa, something is clearly up. I know that neutral creatures of the same type are often grouped together, so that makes sense; but critters don't work that way. I'll test this some more and not re-add the note to the page until I'm 100% confident it's true. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 05:04, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
Try at the Deathroot Shack, lots of ambients there, including ravens that perch right next to each other and frogs that congregate in fairly small areas. I've noticed a similar thing happening with Freezing Gust, which is also supposed to be single-target, but sometimes it hits 2 ambient critters at once (I've been using elementalist focus for daily Ambient Killer achievements). —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 05:39, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
