slug-like[edit]
Doesn't look like a slug to me - more like one of these grubs: nz grass grub. grubs are a grub-like creatures... :) -- aspectacle 17:19, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- "Grubs are grub-like creatures" sounds odd as all hell. I put slug because they're more slug-like than the previously-placed "worm like" which is too easily mistaken for worm rather than actual worms. Konig/talk 18:10, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
ooze merge?[edit]
why the merge? theyre not the same- the grubs are like larvae and the the oozes are like the gw1 oozes - they look nothing alike Getefix 14:21, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- "Their slayer achievement category is Ooze."
- But yes, it is not very intuitive, and could very well be some sort of bug (e.g. grubs were supposed to get their own category but didn't, or maybe they belong with worms, etc.). Vili 点 14:55, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- I disagree with merging: the achievement category should not determine content placement, especially for things that are really so dissimilar. Under this principle, chicken and rats and other creeps would be all on the same page, as they're contributors to the Indiscriminate Slayer category. Redshift 16:39, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- As the one who put the tag up, I figure I'd put in my 2 cents.... During the BWE I killed a couple grubs and not a single Ooze, and at the end - while I didn't grab a screenshot - I believe the ooze slayer achievement was 0 of 10. Which means it was either a bug, a misunderstanding, or the person who put the original "grubs are oozes for the slayer achievement" was wrong (which led me to be wrong with merging).
- As to whether or not the achievement should determine page placement - I can see merit in both arguments. Why not is denoted, but as for why - if people are wanting to know what counts as an Ooze, they'll look at the ooze page. If grubs were to count as ooze, one would naturally expect it to be there because that's what the game says they are, and similarly it'd be helpful to see that grubs count as the ooze achievement on a single page rather than having to go through multiple pages. This is akin to why gw1:Heket also contain the "Frogmen" (named hylek in GW2).
- @Redshift: Imo, they should be denoted under the same creature type - because they are the same creature type. Individual NPCs would be different pages, of course, so they wouldn't "all be on the same page" but you wouldn't have "rat" and "rat (NPC)" articles when there's only 1 kind of rat NPC. But that's a fairly different situation because there's only one per "indiscriminate creature" whereas there are multiple kinds of oozes (Ooze, Tiny Ooze, Chromatic Ooze, Toxis Ooze, etc.) and multiple kinds of grubs.
- This all said, I that in lore, they are different, in mechanics we cannot be certain at this time. I shall put a verification tag next to the note that was placed stating they count for the ooze slayer achievement and I suggest we wait until the next BWE to see if that's even correct before merging or deciding not to. Because 1) they're different in lore, but 2) they may be the same in mechanics - so it just comes down to "which should we favor?" (despite me being all pro lore stuff, it doesn't matter to much which is favored so long as its consistent). Konig/talk 19:27, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- I'm against the merge. 1) Just because the game presents something in a nonsensical way doesn't mean we are required to do likewise (read as: We have brains. Lets use them) 2) The merge would confuse users looking for Grubs. Sure, you'd put a redirect in for Ooze. Yay. So now a user searching on Grubs finds a page on Oozes. I can see the user complaints already. 3) There are such things as categories. Just add 'grub' to the 'ooze' category if it really does contribute to ooze slayer, and in the content of the grub page, outline why its in the category. Torrenal 19:42, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Category[edit]
I did some testing and killing them counts towards the Wurm Slayer achievement, changing it now. 192.168.104.79 17:05, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
Larva of wurm[edit]
According to the achievement category, it is probably the larva state of wurm. --192.168.104.82 03:58, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
- That's not the case seeing how there is an event chain in which we see Wurm Eggs hatch into Ice Wurm Hatchlings. Grubs are a kind of insect - specifically the larva of insects (usually in reference to larva of beetles it seems). Wurms aren't insects. The achievement makes no sense, tbh.
