Hey there.

I am trying to collect data on the drops from this gift, would it be possible to add a link to my google sheet in order to collect data? [1] Silveress (talk) 19:52, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

I'll start listing my daily drops (I just got Mawrey 2 but forgot to write down the first drops, derp) Garruul (talk) 22:45, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

I'm not sure if putting the link on the article itself would be okay (other editors would know better), but you can certainly post it here on the talk page. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:01, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Why not just make a drop page for it? It works like any other container. --Ventriloquist 20:06, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Its easier to do more complex calculations on a spreadsheet such as calculating the average value of the bag and from that how much the dust is worth, also its easier for people to submit data, once I have data It can be updated here. Wasnt expecting a reply so fat xD Silveress (talk) 20:17, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Bloodstone Dust is almost worthless, since (assuming you open champion bags on a level 80 character) there's just way too much. The question is, considering the high cost of "crafting" Mawdrey, is it "profitable" just to get these gifts? Vili 点 User talk:Vili 22:38, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Perhaps in the long, long run. The majority of the stuff you get is salvage items, trash and greens. I assume you get green items and above which means that there's a potential precursor in there! --Ventriloquist 22:41, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
I can confirm it can also drop exotics. I just received a Peasant's Solution from the Gift. Garruul (talk) 14:01, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
It's true: precursors also drop! Got Rodgort's Flame from the Gift today. Fivebrights (talk) 20:17, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
Having a spreadsheet is not a problem, add a link to the spreadsheet on this talk page and then we'll refer people to the talk page in the notes. The main reason is to keep discussion about the drop research contained to the wiki.--Relyk ~ talk < 22:53, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, ill add the link to my first post. Silveress (talk) 08:25, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

A quick note here: I got a rare piece of armor, level 80, so yes, at the very least it can drop rare items. I also just received a Seraph Medal of Honor - this is a karma reward. Not sure this is intended, however. Garruul (talk) 05:00, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

I think its intended, today I just got a lesser vision crystal. It really can give you almost anything.A Liability (talk) 01:35, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
According to the guy in the spreadsheet getting a White Coral Ring, I assume they may also use Maudrey II to shove some scarce items back into the economy. --Soulblydd (talk) 17:17, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

time to generalize?[edit]

Seems like it's time to generalize a bit:

  • Crafting materials - current list covers basic/fine/rare from tiers 1-6, Vision Crystal, ingredients (including account-bound ones like Limes) - pretty obvious that it can contain any crafting material. (might need more data to verify all Ascended materials; also no gemstones listed yet)
  • Trophies - retain the list of trophies unique to this container, otherwise it seems like all junk trophies are on the drop table.

I would postulate that in terms of equipment, Mawdrey can give anything that the Mystic Forge gives. For crafting materials, other than the (lesser and normal) Vision Crystals, it can probably give anything; what would be interesting is if someone gets a "holiday" item, such as Piece of Candy Corn, or other exclusive content.
As for trophies, are those actually unique to Mawdrey? I feel like ____ Mass already existed in the game, but can't remember where I've seen it. (Might be thinking of GW1 salvage trophies.) Vili 点 User talk:Vili 00:05, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
The salvage items are unique to here - they may have low ID numbers (20k range), but they only showed up in the API at the same time as Mawdrey, indicating that they were unimplemented content that got repurposed.
In the trophies, Pile of Mold/Wad of Slimy Fungus, Pile of Liquified Goo, and Bottle of Rum at least were unknown before Mawdrey; all of the others are dropped by various PvE foes. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 01:20, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

Orrian Master Scholar Certificate[edit]

I'm not fully sure where to add this, so I will put it here. I just received a drop from the Mawdrey II gift that doesn't even appear to have a wiki page. It is a masterwork trinket, level 75, called Orrian Master Scholar Certificate. The stats are Condition Damage (41), Toughness and Precision (30). There is additional description on the item: "...awarded for exemplary wisdom, research, bravado, and intelligence in the field of...". 58.7.212.170 12:30, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

Can you give us the ID of this item? Just type /wiki and link it just like you would link in the chat. The wiki finds the id from strings like [&AgFjtQAA]. Raljeor (talk) 12:45, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
Or just look it up :P--Relyk ~ talk < 13:17, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
Oh Relyk, you're so old school :P —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 13:26, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
Smiley hasn't updated his website api links.--Relyk ~ talk < 17:47, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

Trivia - Little Shop of Horrors[edit]

Do we use trivia notes still? As this seems to be a clear reference to Audrey 2, from Little Shop of Horrors. The plant that was fed blood and in return could give you riches? - 94.173.27.136 07:32, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

It's noted on Mawdrey II --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 08:59, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Feedback 2022/07/07[edit]

Gift from Mawdrey II doesn't give level specific gear. It gives Piece of Unidentified Gear.pngPiece of Unidentified Gear and Piece of Rare Unidentified Gear.pngPiece of Rare Unidentified Gear Not 100% sure of the other changes. Likely mimics Fluctuating Mass.pngFluctuating Mass now regarding junk/trinket drops etc. --Lowdaniel123 (talk) 13:56, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
