Expanded dialogue[edit]

I copied down all of Morris's text in the conversations. However, I don't know how to make it into the fancy text typically used for conversations. So, could someone please take this and prettify it? Thank you!

When you talk to Gardener Morris:

  • Morris: It's good to see you again. Your crops are bound to flourish with this much attention. Can I help you with anything?
  • You: I'd like some more seeds. (Takes you to Morris's vendor dialog.)
  • You: Possibly. I have a question.
    • Morris: Of course. What would you like to know?
    • You: I'd like to see which seeds you're carrying. (Takes you to Morris's vendor dialog.)
    • You: How does gardening work?
      • Morris: Gardening lets you customize the harvestable plants in your garden. You can choose what to grow in your garden by planting seeds -- just make sure to come back and collect them once they've ripened.
      • You: I have some more questions. (Exits back to the questions page.)
      • You: Great, that's all I needed to know. (Leaves the conversation.)
    • You: Where do I get seeds, and how do I plant them?
      • Morris: I can give you seeds. Once you get a seed pouch from me, equip it by using the pouch in your inventory. You can then interact with open soil to plant the seeds here in your garden.
      • You: Anything else I should know?
        • Morris: One last thing: once you equip a seed pouch, you can plant your equipped seeds in multiple locations, so you don't need to equip a seed pouch every time.
        • You: I have some more questions. (Exits back to the questions page.)
        • You: Great, that's all I needed to know. (Leaves the conversation.)
      • You: I have some more questions. (Exits back to the questions page.)
      • You: Great, that's all I needed to know. (Leaves the conversation.)
    • You: How long do plants take to grow?
      • Morris: Everything takes one day to mature and ripen, so you can harvest each crop in your garden once per day.
      • You: I have some more questions. (Exits back to the questions page.)
      • You: Great, that's all I needed to know. (Leaves the conversation.)
    • You: What are "growing crops"?
      • Morris: Growing crops appear in soil you've grown, but they aren't quite ready to be harvested. You can wait for them to mature, or remove them if you want to plant different seeds in their place.
      • You: Is there any penalty for removing growing crops?
        • Morris: Not at all. If you remove growing crops and plant new seeds, your new seeds will mature at the same time and rate that the original crops would have matured. It's quite convenient.
    • You: Do I need to replant my crops after I harvest them?
      • Morris: No need -- crops replant themselves after you've harvested them. If you want to change what's been planted, interact with growing crops to remove them, then plant a new seed in the open soil.
      • You: I have another question. (Exits back to the questions page.)
      • You: Understood. (Leaves the conversation.)
    • You: I've seen some rare and unusual plants in my travels. Can I grow those?
      • Morris: I can give you new kinds of seed pouches after you harvest enough of those plants in the wild. But, only natural plants drop seeds, so the synthesizers in guild halls and the Mists won't work.
      • You: I have some more questions. (Exits back to the questions page.)
      • You: Okay. (Leaves the conversation.)
    • You: How do I replant my garden if crops are already growing?
      • Morris: Interact with growing crops to remvoe them, then plant new seeds in their place. You won't get any resources from the plant you removed, but your new crops will grow back quickly.
      • You: I have some more questions. (Exits back to the questions page.)
      • You: Got. (Leaves the conversation.)
    • You: Actually, never mind. (closes the dialog)
  • You: I'd like to expand my garden. How do I add more plots?
    • Morris: You can expand the garden to add room for four additional nodes with a second deed from the Black Lion Trading Company.
    • You: Show me where. (Takes you to the Black Lion Trading Company window.)
  • You: Nothing right now, thanks. (closes the dialog)

Thanks for all your hard work documenting all the dialogue here! I've reformatted and added it to the page. :) --Kossage (talk) 22:39, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

Initially locked?[edit]

Do we need a column in the tables to show whether the seeds are initially locked? Alternately, we could put a footnote stating that. Also, the ones that are locked are all (I think) part of the Dedicated Gardener collection. The footnote or column could mention that as well. Daddicus (talk) 17:26, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

Dialog different[edit]

The dialog entered on the main page today is different from what I recorded yesterday. Has it changed? Or, is it different depending on your race? (I was in as a human.) Daddicus (talk) 02:52, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

I just confirmed that the dialog is different in the different home instances (well, at least between the Human and the Charr one.)
Much more importantly, the gardens themselves are different. Crops you plant in one home instance do NOT carry over to other home instances. I'm not sure where to log this, but it seems pretty important. Ideas, please? Daddicus (talk) 02:53, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
The previous comment was due to a bug that is now fixed.

Feedback 2018/01/23[edit]

Missing related achievements section: Dedicated Gardener This is how I've seen this handled on other pages. Would this suffice here as well?

Feedback 2018/01/27[edit]

I think there should be some small mention that this NPC (and the 4 others like him) are only available by purchasing the GemStore unlock for the garden. If that's a spoiler, then at least refer to the hidden collection which does mention only being available after GemStore unlock. I stumbled upon the guaranteed dye unlock and spent about 15 minutes finally tracking down that it is tied to the GemStore unlock. --- Keenedge (talk) 19:21, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

Anomaly on the recipes[edit]

The recipes he sells are essentially futile, since they are locked until you finish Dedicated Gardener, but they drop from the reward for finishing it... Cynique (talk) 16:40, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

If you delete any of the given recipes by mistake, you can buy them again, without having to open a ticket with support, I guess this is why they did that. ~Abbygaëlle (talk) 00:01, 4 June 2021 (GMT)
