Talk:Assault Knight

I expanded the strategy part to keep it updated to today's patch as most people ingame seem to have not noticed the changes in mechanics, and also I added a Loot part explaining how drops work now. However, im not a good English speaker (at least not enough to freelly write a wiki article without ortographic errors) so if someone could check if I made any mistake I would be thankfull. 84.120.0.246 20:46, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Split[edit]

First off the names are actually Legendary Static Assault Knight, Legendary Dynamic Assault Knight, and Legendary Synergetic Assault Knight. I have no strong opinion on whether they should be split. I just didn't feel like making the exact same page 3 times. It seemed pointless to me. Like how we don't have Berserker's Draconic Helm, Knight's Draconic Helm, Rabid Draconic Helm, etc. Psycho Robot (talk) 19:48, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

Unless they've changed the names, my memory and these images disagree with you. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:05, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
oh. I'll double check. I thought they didn't have the color in the name, or maybe I just overlooked it. Psycho Robot (talk) 20:41, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
Yeah you're right. I guess anet updated only my client to show something different but now they changed it back. Anet sure is mysterious. Psycho Robot (talk) 21:11, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
The event says Dynamic/Static/Synergetic, the NPC name was always just Red/Blue/Green. (Edit: Apparently I missed the college names in the NPCs and even Ish's images, so I guess both say both color and college).
While the NPCs are basically the same in mechanics: 1) the same can be said for, as an example, Toxic Husk, Veteran Toxic Husk, Elite Toxic Husk, and Champion Toxic Husk - and even to Summoned Husk and Blighted Husk. We have different articles because they are different NPCs with different locations, events, names, and (for the assault knights) models. This is enough differentiation, IMO, to merit a split.Konig 21:29, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
It just feels bad because copying the same strategy section to three identical articles is...weird. Also an issue of consistency; if someone makes a change to the "Assault Knight" page, that's fine and everyone can see it. But what if someone edits part of the strategy for the Red Knight, but not the others? It's three times as many edits.
However, since this content is only going to be here another week or so, I have no strong feelings either way. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 21:44, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
Well... by consistency with all other articles, the strategies belong on the event articles, not the NPC articles. Furthermore, the strategies do slightly change, because of the ambient enemies (e.g., only Static has to worry about Molten Alliance mobs and the occasional pop up of a miasma event right on top of them to the west; until last update, only Blue had to worry about menders, though it still has the ambient aetherblades and a couple menders in the distance; Synergetics can also get mobs from a Aetherblade miasma event, as well as the Admiral being pulled onto them - the latter happened to me a couple runs back). (Reset indent) Since everyone's said they wouldn't be stressed about it, went ahead and split them. Konig 00:26, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
