Talk:Ascalon Basin

From Guild Wars 2 Wiki

A basin is generally a geographic feature, referring to an area draining into a lake, a bowl-shaped depression in the earth (often holding water), or something similar. While the charr may have had outposts in the Ascalon basin, the basin itself is not an outpost any more than the Amazon river basin is an outpost. BrettM 17:49, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

There is a foundry along the coast of the basin, but I think the basin is either 1) the body of water at the bottom of the stairs in pre or 2) that river right outside it. It depends on how much Ascalon City changed in the 18 years between Proph and the Foefire. Anyways, I changed the document a bit. -- Konig/talk 20:49, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
If I understand which stairs and body of water you mean in 1), that area is in the middle of town, and the stairs become the ones we use to get in and out of Ascalon City in Post. Most of the NPCs are located where the water used to be, and Tydus is up on the island that was in the middle. A lake connected with the river you mention seems like a better possibility, but I don't imagine we'll find out for sure until we get a look at the in-game map of the area. Your revisions look just fine to hold us until we have further detail. -- BrettM 20:19, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
