Yasna's Research Notes regarding Brandstones can be found at the lowest level of the central library near her. As you help her with the research, she will update them each day.
Location[edit]
Text[edit]
- Yasna's research notes are piled neatly on the table.
- This substance was formed from desert sands fused into a glassy substance, then crystallized by the power of Kralkatorrik in the Brandstorm.
- The material shatters with a hard impact, releasing a small amount of magical energy, which does not appear to cause any immediate adverse effects.
- It should be possible to use some binding and stabilizing agents to convert this into a useful material. More samples and data are required.

Read notes on Kralkatite. (Day 1)
- The power emanating from the Kralkatite strongly resembles the Branded power from this residue, but there are a few significant differences.
- This Branded residue still retains some element of direction from Kralkatorrik, attempting to spread its influence.
- Some element involved in the formation of Kralkatite must be serving to disconnect this power from Kralkatorrik's control.

Read notes on Branded residue. (Day 2)
- The impact sites are saturated with Kralkatorrik's energy - more than would be expected.
- This is consistent with the anomalies that I found with Kralkatite, but that means that there must be something leeching the energy from the Kralkatite and discharging it into the environment.

Read notes on miasma. (Day 3)
- This substance appears to be what is leeching Kralkatorrik's corruption from the Kralkatite. It appears to need some sort of activator.
- I expect this is being triggered by the high-energy environment inside the Brandstorm, but it may be possible to activate this behavior in another way.

Read notes on powdered rose quartz. (Day 4)
- As these calculations indicate, depending on how the light collectors are calibrated, the energy in the resulting light beam may be sufficient for our purposes.
- The rest of the page is filles with sketches of the Astralarium and noted with formulae and calculations.

Read notes on the astral alignment treatise. (Day 5)
- The mirror calibration readings confirm that we should be able to activate the powdered rose quartz by placing it within the focused light of the Astralarium.
- This will allow us to eliminate any remnant of corruption from the Kralkatite. However, the released energy may be dangerous.

Read notes on mirror calibration (Day 6)
- The ingot produced from using the Astralarium to activate the powder is clearly unstable.
- From analysis, I think this should be replicable with any significant energy source, but we will need a binding agent, such as ectoplasm, to stabilize the Kralkatite.
