Open Soil are plots of dirt found inside the player's home instance after unlocking a garden plot.

They are used to plant seeds harvested from herb nodes after completing the sylvari portion of the Gourmet Training achievement, or, if the Black Lion Garden Plot Deed has been purchased, seeds sold by the Gardener NPC. Some of the Gardener's seeds need to be unlocked first by completing Dedicated Gardener.
