Tanetris[edit]
I've never had a reconfirmation before. This is very exciting. - Tanetris 23:29, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
Status[edit]
Succeeded, retains both sysop and bureaucrat roles. 16:47, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
Discussion[edit]
- Tanetris is an experienced and trusted bureaucrat who appears unlikely to beat around the bush. Out of the currently seated active bureaucrats, Tanetris is the most vital candidate to remain. That obviously does not mean Pling and poke are not vital, but if it would come to a 1-of-3 scenario Tanetris' actions prove his current position the best. His level of directness and subjectivity should not be removed unless it can be replaced by something of similar quality. - Infinite - talk 19:50, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- I've seen Tanetris work at GWW the most over the last 5 or so years. I was always impressed how no matter how chaotic a situation became, he would always find a way to be not only neutral and fair, but also defuse situations where other experienced admins have failed. His thoughtful comments, observations, and input into key discussions show his level of maturity and ability to balance between different viewpoints. Keeping him in the bureaucrat seat will help in the future as the wiki community grows and natural conflicts arise between people. --Lania 21:53, 02 April 2012 (UTC)
- Dinosaur with years of experience. Tons of experience dealing with trolls, problem users and various wiki issues. Definitely worth keeping as sysop, probably also as bureaucrat. -Auron 03:56, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- It is vital that Bureaucrats are willing to stick their head in, and capable of making eloquent posts that clearly explain their position - and at both of these he excels like none other. As an aside, he also has a tendency of penning WoTs which are enjoyable to read - and that's down right unheard of. On a final note, sometimes a Bureaucrat must go against the community at large when it comes to deciding the outcome of an RfA, and this can always result in some ill will being built up and claims of incompetence / bias. He is one of few users who has my absolute trust, and while I personally expect him to be ever willing to explain such actions, personally I'm not sure if I would need such an explanation from him. - Tanetris is our best bureaucrat, and IMO our best admin. There are multiple reasons why, some of which have been mentioned above, but I would like to point to one small detail that I doubt anyone else will mention: this. Tanetris the only bureaucrat who actually bothers with small wiki maintenance tasks like deleting content marked for deletion. I'm not sure if the other bureaucrats believe this kind of task is too small for them or whatever, but the fact we have a bureaucrat willing to actually do the janitorial tasks admins are meant to is wonderful. - I can't think of any reasons why Tanetris should't be an administrator. Lots of experience and the power of neutrality. -- Cyan 20:16, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- If the MediaWiki team didn’t come up with the name “bureaucrat” for the user group, I would have proposed “Tanetris” by now. Seriously though, Tanetris is one of the very few people who is still around from the earlier months of GWW without a real loss in activity, and his “crazyness” for the wiki’s good and objective is somewhat unbeatable (I mean, he took notes when sitting in front of GW2 on Fanday instead of just enjoying the time…). With his level-headedness and his general behaviour he is absolutely one of the best candidates I could possibly imagine for the bureaucrat role. While I never saw him fitting to be a real sysop alone very well, the bureaucrat position is really where he should be. poke | talk 21:55, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- If there ever was a "Rock" on which to build this now is the best choice.. providing peer support to this individual is going to be the real challenge in the future, so that the fardles of the structure be not borne alone. Rudhraighe 16:15, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- Tanetris is very capable of keeping both sysop and bureaucrat positions. He is the epitome of what I would like to see in a sysop/bureaucrat. Helpful, level-headed, mature, honest, humble, devoted, etc. The list could go on for a while. He has shown all these values over a number of years across two wikis, so I can only see him keeping those values, gaining more experience, and being better at a position he is already great at doing. — Gares 21:37, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- Tanetris fully excels at both being a sysop and bureaucrat, and I fully support his retention of both positions. -- Lacky 07:54, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
- Tanetris is calm, cool & collected. I support his RfA. --Silverleaf Don't assume, Know! 09:17, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

- Too much praise may start going to his head. Unfortunately it is deserved. In the short time I have seen Tanetris work at this wiki, I have yet to see something questionable. He is helpful in technical inquires as well as human relation queries (is disruptions). Thus I feel he should be able to maintain his position here. Venom20 13:17, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
- There is significant support for Tanetris in both capabilities, with the impression that, of anyone, his presence and experience have earned him a great amount of trust. In fairness, I am not sure that I have the necessary witness to provide my support for Tane as a bureaucrat, but from my observations on his presence here and in the way he approaches his language, I would welcome him as such and at least support him in continuing his work as a sysop. - Please leave an elaborate comment about why, or why not, the candidate should retain his seat. Discussions are desired!
