GM Awesomeness was a backend engineer and gamemaster on the Guild Wars 2 Support Team at ArenaNet. Their job was to make sure players' support tickets get to the Support Team and that the Support Team's replies make it back to the players. They also maintained the Support website, wrote the articles in the Support Knowledge Base, and developed the Known Issue Tracker.[1][2]
They frequently interacted with players on Reddit, helping answer questions, assisting players with support ticket issues, and collected bug reports to pass on to QA. They were not one of the "Banhammer Squad GMs" who enforce the Rules of Conduct in-game.[3]
