Hello just a friendly reminder all ICONS must be .png and follow a specific format "Game icon images (skill icons, item icons, trait icons, map icons, etc.) should:

• be named to match the game entity they represent (e.g. "File:Meteor Shower.png" for Meteor Shower)
• be tagged with {{icon}} and {{ArenaNet image|icon}}

It was changed very recently, which is why you have received a message. A lot of users received the same message (because a lot of users have recently uploaded jpgs). :) - Infinite - talk 21:13, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

(Reset indent) To further add to the confusion, we've even more recently decided to no longer redirect images to articles. This is not to tell you to stop doing that (because you aren't doing that), but it regards one of the templates you still add because of the previous notice.

The template {{icon}} was used to indicate that icons were used as redirects. Since this is no longer the case, the template is also no longer used. So from this moment on please tag images only with ArenaNet tag, and user tag where applicable.

As a closing note, no need to worry about previous uploads; we can sort that out via the use of a programmed bot. Sorry for us being confusing. :) - Infinite - talk 19:05, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Move remnants

Hi there! Thanks for your help with getting the 'earing' moved. Just as a note, when you're moving to correct something like an uncommon typo, many times the page's "move remnant" (and the talk page's move remnant as well) that's left behind can be tagged for speedy deletion (just use {{delete|move remnant|speedy}}). wrong slashes

The pages you created at "Jeweler\Recipes Grouped" and "Jeweler\Recipes Grouped\Copper" are using the wrong slashes, and this is interfering with wiki operations. Could you recreate them with the proper slashes at Jeweler/Recipes Grouped and Jeweler/Recipes Grouped/Copper? Thanks. —Dr Ishmael 16:10, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

NPC screenshots

I saw that you just uploaded "File:Krepet.png". Normally, we prefer JPG format for screenshots - that's why the infobox template defaults to that extension. Because PNG is a lossless format, it produces significantly larger files without a noticeable increase in quality. (We use PNG for item/skill icons because they have small dimensions, making the difference in filesize much less significant, and it's the native format returned through the official API.)

screenshot filenames

If you make the filename match the pagename (e.g. File:Plush Sofa.jpg for Plush Sofa) the infobox will automatically detect the image. (If it doesn't appear immediately, just click on the "refresh" tab at the top of the page.) —Dr Ishmael 02:20, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, that's a somewhat annoying "feature" of the wiki. It's probably configurable, but I don't know offhand where or how it would be done (and we'd have to go through our Anet contacts to change it, anyway). —Dr Ishmael 05:07, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
