Beta Weekend Event[edit]
- Hey Tax, have you pre-ordered the game? Will you be in-game for this upcoming beta? If so, there are five others in the guild who have definitely pre-ordered and two more who may or may not by this weekend, and I'm trying to figure out the squads people should (ideally) play in. If you're going to be online but would rather solo, that's fine too, but I just wanted to check in. --Sy-Talk 02:00, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- Yup, pre-ordered and registered. I'm definitely planning to be on for the event, though I'm taking my last CPA exam on Friday so I may be late depending how long it takes me to finish the test. Have you gotten any emails about the event yet? I haven't. I'm hoping everything is in order. I just registered last week, but I should still have access to all of the events. I'd probably prefer to be in a party, but I don't mind soloing as long as I can communicate with the rest of the group. I almost soloed the original games exclusively, but that was because the random people I kept finding were idiots. Henchmen listened. - TaxBrony 02:35, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- Well, we'd love to party up with you--don't worry about being late to the game. The three Cornerstones of the guild seem like they'll be pretty active--personally I'm only taking breaks to sleep and do one homework assignment, because I'm insane like that--but everyone else in the guild will be rotating in and out of our party, so there will be definite space for you. Another good thing about GW2 is that, if by some odd circumstance all 8 or so of us are online at once, we can split into two parties of four. We'll be able to explore the overworld and do dynamic events, even split across the two groups--we just won't all be in the same personal story instances. Glad to hear you'll be online! As for the emails, no, I haven't received any yet. Don't worry about it, though--I personally doubt they'll be sent out any sooner than three days in advance. --Sy-Talk 02:43, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, that's good. My exam starts at 11:30 and I get 3 hours, which I'm sure I won't need. The beta event starts at noon PDT (3:00pm EST for me), so I should have enough time to get on early. I highly doubt I'll go back into work after the exam. Is the guild roster up-to-date? Just checking out what professions people will be playing. So far, it looks like we've got everything covered except an engineer or elementalist. Not that it really matters. Quick question about the guild structure: Don't know if you guys have discussed any of this or not, but will there only be 3 Cornerstones? Any other ranks aside from that and "member?"

We are currently recruiting friends and talking them into trying the game out, but they're not ready to commit yet--even some of the people on the page haven't preordered yet (but have said beyond a doubt they WILL get the game, which is why I included them.) As for the guild structure, this is something I have discussed in much depth with the Cornerstones. At this size, we really only need the Cornerstones as officers. As the guild continues to grow, each Cornerstone will choose one officer from the ranks that they feel like is skilled enough in-game and trusted to administrate to help them out--so one PvE officer, one WvW, etc. As it grows beyond that, there will be more officers chosen.
