Humbling[edit]
Meeting Gaile like that, and her getting excited meeting you... That's not a moment anybody gets to experience often. I can only imagine what that was like for Gaile to treat you like that. Of course, I'd probably feel the same way meeting you or Poke, but I'm a lot more of a nobody than Gaile... But she is right though. You guys do put forth a laudable effort here. =) ~~ Kiomadoushi 06:18, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

- Brilliant write-up, Tanetris. It was an amazing, unforgettable experience for us at ArenaNet, and I'm so glad you could make it to the event and share it with everyone. :-) --Regina Buenaobra 18:09, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

- What a great article! I loved meeting you and enjoyed our conversation immensely. Thank you for your kind words about the game, the studio, the team, and yeah, about me, too. Sorta kinda made my week. :) --Gaile 00:04, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
- @Poke -- yeah, get on that, dude. ;) -- Gaile 00:05, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

My brilliant plan to get Anet people posting on the wiki has succeeded. Mwahaha!
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I felt that this was really the part about Fanday that most needed to be expressed; playable engineer and underwater combat and so forth are things everyone will eventually experience for themselves, whether at the summer cons, or whenever we get a public beta, or at release if nothing else, but the Fanday itself, spending the day with Anet and really getting a chance to get to know them a bit better and take in what it's like there, is something most will never get to experience directly, so I wanted to offer the vicarious experience as much as possible. I'm glad people enjoyed reading. I do, however, think that people are overestimating my qualifications as a blogger, as you must remember it took me nearly a month to finish writing this. ;)
And yeah, Poke, get posting!
And Gaile and Regina and Josh (even though I think I only said all of about 3 words to you at the time, oops), like I more or less said in the post, it was great to meet you and everyone else there. Unforgettable is definitely the right word. And once more Gaile, while I've already said thank you, once again thank you. If I made your week, well, I consider that small repayment for making my day on a day that was already full of more than enough awesome to make my month. :) - Tanetris 16:00, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
- Aww, everybody's getting emotional! =3 That is a pretty lucky and amazing chance, Tane. It may have taken a month, but your blog was a lot more detailed than most of the others (game this, game that, we were here with the snacks in the kitchen, more game, game, game, game game...) so your "blog" was pretty good. =) Now if only Poke does a good job too... ~~ Kiomadoushi 17:38, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
- I think it's time someone asks, "Poke? Who's he?" (See my sneaky plan here? Poke, in order to assuage our concerns about his continued existence, is forced to post the tale of his journey to ArenaNet. In doing so, he (1) proves he's still on this temporal plane and (2) earns the undying adulation of an already-respectful wiki community. Yeah, well, I can hope, right!?) -- Gaile 04:11, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
