Shoutout to the cool dev that implemented Customized soundtracks! :D -- Karasu (talk) 08:32, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Indeedles! If he is he, shouldn't he be in the ArenaNet group? --zeeZ (talk) 14:53, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks guys! Hope to see you in the game in a couple of days! James Boer 07:10, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- Welcome, James:) - Zeez, if I'm not mistaken, the "bio" page of ANet luminaries is categorised, rather than their user page. See James Boer --snograt 07:29, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- Welcome! Are you the one who implemented those ambient sounds (fire burning, engines working, etc) that don't repeat themselves like pre-set? They sound random and as natural as can be, pretty awesome! :) – Valento msg 07:51, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! It sounds like you saw Emmanuel's youtube video talking about some of the cool little things in GW2 (I love his videos). The audio team got a kick out of the fact that people even noticed that stuff. I'm responsible for the technology side of things, but our audio designers are the ones who create all those sounds and integrate them into the game. James Boer 16:18, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, that video, I agree with him that Guild Wars 2 art is truly well done in every way. If you're in a cold area (wayfarer foothills for example) and hear wolves howling from afar, it blends so well with the sound of the winds gently blowing that it does make the game feel alive. Just yesterday I was talking to a friend about some horror games and how the sounds and background/environmental music makes the difference between a static game and a thrilling one; sounds are a very important part of a game! ^^ – Valento msg 04:32, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
