Code[edit]
Okay, I realized I had done reverted , but my original still stays. Example. Look at my status at the no include. Then look at my main. The difference is the no include shows up on the status, but not on the main.
Let's say someone not familiar with all of you and the way you all runs this wiki, uses that code for that template. The no include doesn't show up the delete tag (It won't tag that page delete, that's silly. tried it last night on another wiki.). The person uses this template, It gets deleted. You would either get 2 things, someone complaining or a recreation of the page. I would suggest either a redirect or tell them on their talk page of the other template. (Since redundant is used.)
Anyway, Thing is with it on there and shown. the person could use it, see it's to be deleted. (It's not linked to any pages so this wouldn't be a problem as it was made out by you more than pling). They could remove it. Seek out a helper or an admin and get the right template. easier than getting complains, recreation of a deleted page, etc. less problems. See now? It was too much WoL on my talk for this to be clear. But that's how I try to view it for users who don't hardly use a wiki or who are new, etc. Because not everyone is brilliant and not everyone is dumb. It's not on how it's wanted, but how it would benefit the user, not the sysop.
Am I being clear or understood now? I just want what I did to be understood and/or for us to see clearly other points of view, etc. Ariyen 17:41, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- I understand. The discussion came up because you asked about the tag and reverted Chris. The question was answered. Chris was correct by using the tag. There is nothing that needs changing, such as redirects or talk page posts. A template will not be deleted as long as it's in use, unless it's used for nefarious reasons. — Gares 14:05, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
cheese[edit]
randomness FTW!! --The Holy Dragons 18:34, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- Ain't nothing random about having some soft, tasty cheese on a plate. Om, nom, nom, nom. — Gares 18:59, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
traits organitation[edit]
I see that you are organizing the traits. The style appears similar to the cats for the skills, so it should look good when it is done. The only question I have is about consistency. You have created [[:Category:Warrior main hand axe traits]] and [[:Category:Warrior off hand axe traits]], but then you created [[:Category:Warrior sword traits]]. Why did you not create 2 for a main hand and an off hand. It would be reasonable to assume that there would be traits for both. Venom20 16:06, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- That's because I forgot about the off hand sword. :P Thanks for letting me know. I'll get on it. — Gares 16:08, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- Heh, ok then. I'm just going to go through and filter the cats you made into a more appropriate letter. for instance, "necro main hand dagger" will be sorted into D in "necro traits" instead of NVenom20 16:11, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- Alright. Appreciate you adding sort keys. — Gares 16:11, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

- Doggie! :-) Q. Does it really need a cat. by it's self? (*meows*) Ariyen 17:44, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- It would seem odd, but the plan is the same as always. All dog species will be going under that cat, so Krytan Drakehound won't be alone for too long. The dog article will then be changed to reflect both good and bad doggies. What is already there is just a part of the whole article, but also the only thing we know about the dog species atm. — Gares 18:35, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Oooo, I hope they have Cats ;) . I wouldn't be surprised on raccoons... those are incredible and I know I don't want to make one mad (well, one almost came back at me - when trying to get them away from porch)... They can drown a dog... Ariyen 20:33, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Google Instant[edit]
I find it rather annoying. ShadowRunner 22:20, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah. At least they have an option to disable it. I tried get used to it, Google, I really did... — Gares 22:39, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- But Gares, Google Instant is uncanny when it comes to guessing what you need. Some friends and I tested it out in our CS lab- the letter f gave us facebook, and the letters fg gave us female genital mutilation, which is exactly what we were looking for! 22:46, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- I don't have to hit search anymore, but I do anyway and I get the same results in the same time. :P It's going to take some getting used to.. - Infinite - talk 22:47, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Google is a sham. When I search for daily news about the upcoming Zombie apocalypse, I don't want to have to type out Zombie, hit space, and then 'A' for google to know what I'm looking for. — Gares 22:54, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Pokes[edit]
I brought up activity levels of admins, and Tane suggested I poke you on your talk page. Aqua (T|C) 03:15, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

I see you there[edit]
Sup Gares? Been awhile. - Tanetris 14:48, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hey there, Tane. It has been a long time. It's good to be able to check in every once in a while now. It'll be more as things settle back down. How's everything? — Gares 16:04, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
- Oh you know how it is. Another day closer to open beta and release and all, and of course another day of oppressing the masses. Bits of drama here and there, but nothing untoward. Been keeping up with GW2 news, I assume? Wish I could afford that CE, but... We'll see. Anyway, always a pleasure to have ya around, and here's hoping you can stick around awhile. - Tanetris 20:36, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- lol. Sounds good. I'll be around more and more with things starting to settle back down. Oh, and yes, I have been eagerly eating up any bit of GW2 news and vids I can find. I can't wait. GW2 looks to have the makings of bringing back some sense of community that has been almost completely lost with games such as Rift and WoW.
- I completely understand about the CE. Money is tight over here too, but I think I'm gonna get it. My justification: It's helping to support ArenaNet and I'll make back my money over the course of 16 months by not having to pay monthly for another game.
- Keep on oppressing those masses. I heard they secretly like it. Silly masochists. — Gares 01:33, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Bot rollback[edit]
If you go to a user's contribs page and add ?bot=1 (e.g. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/ABIDEEN1?bot=1), all the rollback links become bot-rollback links, marking both the rollback and the original edits being rolled back as bot-edits, hiding them from RC. Much tidier. - Tanetris 05:23, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- I'll keep that in mind for future use. With 4 tabs open, deleting/rolling back on two wikis, being tidy was not my main concern. :P — Gares 05:33, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- Pardon me as I look at you like you've grown a third head, living with only 4 tabs open. But sure, that's fine. Just letting you know such a thing exists. - Tanetris 05:39, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- I honestly did not know that existed. If I can remember, I'll use it in the future. And 4 tabs is all I can handle at my age. — Gares 05:49, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- You're always as young as you can convince whipper-snappers on the internet you are. Which has gone both ways for me, as once upon a time a girl literally one day older than me that I spoke to daily for months was convinced I was over twice her age (which calls into question whether that was a smart move on her part). On the other hand, more recently Plingaling was convinced I was a 13 year old girl, because it was the only possibility that made sense. So. - Tanetris 06:31, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- lol. I can only imagine the conversation that lead to him believing you to be a 13 year old girl. I am constantly reminded that I am handicapped with a natural immaturity. I'm okay with that. It would be boring otherwise. My beard makes me look older, so everything evens itself out. — Gares 15:20, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

special IPs[edit]
IPs starting 192.168.x.x are internal routing IPs that are being erroneously assigned by the wiki's cache server to random users at random times. We can't block them without seriously disrupting a large number of users. Stephane said they were aware of this and working to fix it, but I'm thinking he needs a poke about it. —Dr Ishmael 15:54, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
- I wasn't even paying attention to the IP addresses when I blocked those two this morning. I would never have thought to see a private IP address in recent changes. I see you've unblocked them. Thanks. — Gares 18:13, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
