It's how you sign your comments (leaving your signature and a timestamp). It's quite easy: ~~~ results in a signature, minus the timestamp. Like so: Infinite - talk

However, to properly sign comments we ask all contributors to sign with four tildes instead; ~~~~. Which results in a signature + timestamp, like so: Infinite - talk 13:03, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

On some pages, usually articles where many users never venture, a timestamp along is required to sign. This is done by leaving 5 tildes: ~~~~~. The outcome is then: 13:03, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

There ya go. Your talk page is included in the first div of your homepage template, and you had "text-align:center" as an attribute, so I just got rid of that and put center tags around the header.-- Shew 03:01, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

Other than the character creation details, I'm not gonna add anything to the template so that it won't be too defining as far as the content goes. However, I will definitely make some sort of guild template that can be added to the char template when we find out more about them (or if you see someone else's that you like, you could add it given that it's not too big). In the meantime, you can add that information in one of the 3 unnamed parameters (you name the pages with win-1, win-2, and win-3, and the three unnamed parameters correspond to their contents).-- Shew 02:45, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Heya.

Just a friendly tip, if you don't mind. A colon - : - is treated by wiki software as an indent (what you use when responding to someone). This happened your message, as the wiki thought you were trying to indent when it saw your message began with a colon.

There's a few ways around this;

• You can use <nowiki>:O</nowiki>; this tag tells the software to ignore whatever's inside and just handle it as text. I think this would be the easiest method for you; and it's also a good one to learn, as there are other uses for <nowiki></nowiki> tags; such as me using them in this message to show you them.
• The method I used here was a bit of code to throw in a space before the start of your message. Normal spaces won't work; they'll stick your message in a box, which looks pretty stupid. But the code I used - while functioning as a space - doesn't generate any random boxes, so it's another valid method.

It's one of those little quirks of wikis. If you ever encounter something like that again, feel free to poke me about it. One good idea is to mention in your message if you'd like me to explain what happened and how to avoid it, go to the page in question and fix it myself, or both.

But of course generally these things aren't a big deal, so leaving one as-is shouldn't be a problem.

Last time I responded with a joke

But this time I actually feel like picking up the conversation properly! Anyway yeah, I tend to be contactable via IRC, email or Twitter throughout the entire day, which is why people on-wiki hardly ever really get to talk to me (I prefer to keep chatter like that off the wiki, but I guess it's fine now that the RC isn't under any pressure). However, I am doing alright, really. You will often see me do manual bot work, involve myself in most content-oriented discussions and faff about with (not just personal) projects.
Reason why you see me around a lot is simply because I truly care for this wiki's well-being, but at the same time want to keep the wiki as a wiki (as much as possible). For those reasons you may have noticed me as one of the "anti-speculation crusaders," which is not exactly an accurate term, but I guess it depicts a stance regarding speculation closely resembling mine. Personally, it'd be a great achievement if all speculation and related-but-not-revision discussions off main space, but this is (possibly) a story for another time.
Reason why people jokingly stated I was a bot is mainly because a great deal of my edits involve long streams of edits that might as well have been made by a bot. For instance, I am the leading contributor to the Category tree reorganization (speaking of which, where is Aqua and why is he not replying there anymore, but I digress), which involves renaming, moving, recategorizing a lot of categories, as well as slapping many old ones for deletion. It is therefore not uncommon that users enquire my opinion and/or confirmation when things involve categories.
Last but not least I appreciate it (as I always do) that you took the time to ask me how I am doing. It's great knowing that some users look past the edits and want to get to know the contributor like this. :)
