Pictures[edit]
You said: I got pictures as proof, no idea how to upload them though. You can upload them Special:Upload then insert them into pages using [[File:<picture name>]] you can use extra commands like "_px" (where _ is a number) to link to smaller versions, or "thumb" (with center, right, or left) to make a clickable box. To seprate commands use "|" (ie [[File:Example.jpg|95px|thumb|center>]]) Hope that helped in some way. Previously Unsigned 07:11, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
- It'd be a pretty big picture though, because I need my level and the rewards I got in the dynamic events. Amurense 07:17, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
- You can't just transcribe the information in text? You don't really need to provide picture proof unless somebody comes out and disagrees with you and there's a discussion. I don't get what the picture would be needed for otherwise. Previously Unsigned 07:26, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
- Then I don't even think I need the numbers as information, because all I've written is that dynamic event rewards scale towards your real level to give you a more satisfying reward for completing the event. Anyway, do you know how I can add an image to the Acolyte Pants by using the Apprentice_Pants.png image? I can't get it to work. :s Amurense 07:31, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
- You need to upload a new image, something with a different name since that one is taken. I would use a name like "Apprentice Pants (armor)", it doesnt' really matter because if it's important they can later rename or move it or something. I sometimes do dye images and I do them like this: File:Wasabi_Dye_(light_armor).jpg by adding a section at the bottom called Gallery. You should take a look at Guild Wars 1 Wiki too, and probably try to emulate their style. It's clean. Previously Unsigned 07:41, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm... I'll think about it, though, I am more of a systematician so I prefer to edit the zones, its content, but most of all the mobs. No idea if I'll create lots and lots of equipment articles though. I usually only do that when they aren't created and I noticed that it dropped from a certain mob. - You don't need to create tons of content. All I do is tons of tiny edits and things that I notice are missing. It all adds up. Previously Unsigned 09:21, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, I do know that, though, if I am editing one certain thing, then I want it to be as perfect as I can get it. :) Amurense 10:11, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

- Most of our infoboxes accept an icon parameter that overrides the default
File:{{PAGENAME}}.png
with a different filename for the icon. However, in practice we prefer to avoid that whenever possible by simply re-uploading the file to the default filename. This way when we generate lists of pages using DPL or SMW, we know the icons will match the page name. —Dr Ishmael12:51, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
- Should I just ignore the warning about duplicate files and just submit it anyway then... or? I did that with the Acolyte Pants, I took the Apprentice Pants icon someone uploaded alread, downloaded it and then reuploaded it under the name Acolyte_Pants.png . Amurense 12:57, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
