Row row fight the powa[edit]

I stumbled across a few of your comments, and I'd like to discuss them with you! I've long been an advocate of being able to say what you want on wikis, so know I don't post this lightly. Your overall message, and grievances with ArenaNet, are all fine to have and to voice, but the tone of your recent comments (particularly on Talk:Game updates#July 15, 2014 and to a lesser extent on Talk:Pristine Fractal Relic) are very abrasive. Considering that the majority of people who read these pages are simply players like yourself, harsh or demanding comments largely fall on deaf ears. Players don't make changes to the game, and ArenaNet staff only really reads forums/reddit/etc, so being overly hostile doesn't really help your cause. If you wanted to rally support for a perceived wrongdoing (like no retroactive rewards for past accomplishments), a less angry, more inclusive approach might rally more people to your side. Nothing you said was worthy of a ban IMO, but it also doesn't really fit with the mood of a wiki, since most people here editing are just "innocent bystanders" that play the same game. If you want to grab a torch and pitchfork, there are certainly better places to do that. Good luck and happy editing! -Auron 22:57, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

I'm sorry truth hurts. Gonna try to be less aggressive and more smart-assy next times. 217.15.224.210 23:45, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
"Truth hurts"? Seriously, is that what you got from what Auron said? It's nothing of the sort. He merely pointed out that your posts on the wiki will only be read by fellow players, and there's no need to (apologies Auron, I'm going to be less than conciliatory here) act like a douche to your potential allies. In a general sense, there's no reason to act like a douche in any situation. Instead, state your case in a reasonable manner, and people will be more likely to treat you in the same way. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 00:42, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
Raising awareness never works with sugar-coated words and sentences, although I am willing to take it on me to prove the contrary after Auron's talk to me, but it seems my apology's not good enough for the goody-two-shoes. 217.15.224.210 01:11, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
Apologizing for the right thing and gaining understanding from it is one thing. Apologizing for the wrong thing and missing the point... —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 01:36, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
