Data to attempt to discover the equations used for experience. Thanks to everyone who helped me gather data for this.

Observations[edit]

Things I'm pretty certain about[edit]

  • For low levels, the actual required amount of XP lower than the effective amount needed. For example, at level 6, you need 3343 XP to reach level 7. However, the equations used for rewards are based on needing 5200 XP at this level. This difference decreases until it disappears completely after level 15. This allows the first levels to be obtained faster than normal.
  • All calculations are rounded up.
  • Daily achievements reward 3% of the XP needed at the character's current level. The chest awards an additional 3%.
  • Standard foes award 0.125% of the XP needed at the foe's level. Veterans award 0.25%
  • Gold success for events awards 7% of the event's level.
  • Silver awards 85% of the gold reward, and bronze 75% of gold.
  • A failure awards half the standard rewards for that event.
  • Storyline events award 27% of the event's level.
  • Skill challenges award 4% of the challenge's level.
  • Heart completion awards 8% of the XP needed at the heart's level.
  • Waypoints award 2.5% of the area level.
  • Points of interest and vistas award 1.5% of the area level.
  • Uncovering a new zone awards 1% of the area level.
  • Plant harvests award 0.5% of the area level.
  • Wood and ore award 0.15% per tick.
  • Crafting 1-100 awards 1% of the character's level, 101-200 award 2%, 201-300 award 3%, and 301-400 award 4%.
  • Completing a map awards 10% of the character's level.
  • Revivals award 0.25% of the area or target's level.
  • There is a minimum gain. If your character is over 30 levels above the content, rewards will be calculated as if the content was exactly 30 levels below your character.

  • Champions award 0.45% of the enemy's level
