Tips

Transcribing Guild Chat Episodes

Requirements:

• Office 365

Workflow:

1. Download the Guild Chat Episode as mp3
2. Open Word and click on the "Voice"-> "Transcribe" Button
3. Select "English (United States) as Language
4. Upload the Guild Chat mp3 file
5. Let it process
6. Rename the speakers by clicking on the little Pen beside the text and check the "Replace all Speaker". Use

   '''<Speaker>:'''

   as Name. That way it is correctly formatted for the wiki
7. Click the blue button on the bottom: "Add transcript" and Chose the "with Speaker" Option
8. Copy everything and paste it into Notepad++ or VS Code
9. remove the first lines until the first speaker
10. Search and Replace
    1. Find:

       :'''\r\n

    2. Replace with: (Notice the Space after the last ')

       :''' 

11. Add a newline before each speaker
12. Add

    {{notice|The text below was auto-transcribed and not reviewed. It could be that text appears for the wrong speaker.}}

    at the start of the text
13. Paste into the wiki page
