This is a page where I can jot down all the non-finalized ideas regarding my Guild Wars 2 characters. Remember that I would like the names of all my characters to conform with the naming pattern of Guild Wars 2.
Like GW1, I will eventually have at least one character of each profession and at least one character of each race.

A few phrases to remember as I fill this page in:
- Etherial Transmutation Project
- Hyperetherial Crystalline Supercapacitor
- Heavy Gauge Etherial Interlink Gauntlet
Blamm is a merging of 2 previous Asuran character concepts. First was Nyyaa, a young and ambitious Asura that was initially supposed to be the recreation of Aislinn Cadhla, however was scrapped because the concept didn't really "feel" like a reincarnation of Aislinn. The second character concept was a happy-go-lucky Asuran engineer (without a name, although his name could easily have been Blamm) who was constantly intentionally and unintentionally blowing stuff up. I merged them because I still needed an Asuran for Aislinn's backstory, but wanted it distinct from the then newly created Ashling Rosen.

Major Story Elements[edit]
Below is a list of major story elements that will play into the character stories.
Etherial Transmutation Project (ETP)[edit]
Characters Involved:
Important Asuran Terms in regards to this project:
- Hyperetherial Crystalline Supercapacitor
- Heavy Gauge Etherial Interlink Gauntlet
Basically what happens is that Aislinn Cadhla, having been infused with a mysterious power which is prolonging her lifespan a la the end of The Green Mile, was sick of being alive. She was tired of watching everyone around her grow old and die leaving her once again alone. (Remember, part of her inferiority complex is that she does not have any family to support her.) So, she found Blamm and requested that he drain the power from her in exchange for the opportunity to capture/study/do whatever ("the hell") he wants with it. When Blamm informed her that the procedure may kill her, she replied, "That would be preferable."
While Blamm's initial attempts proved unsuccessful, he discovered a way to transfer the energy from one being to another as long as they were physically similar. Eventually, he found a perfect subject in the form of Ashling Rosen. She was the same height, weight, gender and had the same hair color as Aislinn did in her prime years. She even had a similar name, the same personality, similar background (lack of a surviving biological family), and had very similar, nasty, inferiority complex. (Blamm: "If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing.") Ashling decided to do the experiment, however when she leaves, she sneaks out as opposed to telling her adopted family that she was leaving and where she was going. Her reasoning behind this was because a) her adopted family were nobles and she'd much rather come alone as opposed to being accompanied by guards, b) she wanted to avoid the possibility of them adding an unexpected appointment in her schedule which would prevent her from going, and c) she thought, "They probably wouldn't care anyway...". Immediately before the experiment, while Blamm is still preparing, Aislinn and Ashling talk about the power, which spurs Ashling's interest in it. Aislinn, however, warns her not to make the same mistake she did and be consumed by it. It has the ability to make you very powerful, but also has the ability to destroy your life.
The experiment itself was simple, both Aislinn and Ashling would wear a Heavy Gauge Etherial Interlink Gauntlet on their left hand and grasp the other's left hand with the Hyperetherial Crystalline Supercapacitor between their two palms. The gauntlets would initiate the transfer while the supercapacitor would capture all the power coming through the gauntlets. As the transfer progressed, Blamm's invention worked beautifully... until it exploded. The explosion instantly obliterated Aislinn (literally nothing but dust left) and badly injured Ashling. It also killed Blamm's Sylvari lab assistant, Saoirse.
Blamm rushed over to see whether any part of his experiment could be salvaged. The supercapacitor was completely destroyed and without Aislinn, the gauntlets were useless even if they did still work. Despite the mangled state of the equipment, Blamm only regarded this experiment as a "partial loss." A quick scan of the area revealed that about 94% of the power from Aislinn had completely dissipated in the explosion, approximately 1% had been absorbed into the surrounding grass, trees and other landscape and the remaining 5% had been successfully transferred to Ashling. This meant that Blamm could still extract it from her and study it, however Ashling was not in any condition to perform any sort of experiment on and if she died, the rest of the energy would dissipate, resulting in complete failure.
This left Blamm in a very interesting situation where he needed to bring Ashling home badly injured when her guardians (remember, they're nobles) didn't even know that she left. Blamm ended up telling them that he was performing a potentially dangerous experiment in a remote area, which was true, and that the experiment "suffered a catastrophic structural failure resulting in a large, uncontrolled discharge of etherial particles" (aka it exploded), which was also true. He, however, failed to mention that Ashling was part of this experiment. Rather, he simply stated he found her among the rubble, which is also true to an extent, and postulated that she probably approached the experiment without him noticing and unwittingly got caught in the resulting explosion, which was not true (but they didn't need to know that). In Blamm's defense, he never lied throughout the entire conversation. He told the truth, albeit only parts of it, and made a postulation based off of (those parts of) the truth, which was incorrect.
During Ashling's recovery, Blamm kept on visiting to "check on her" and "make sure she was alright." Ashling, however, could sense that she acquired some of the power from Aislinn and is not keen on just hand it over to Blamm. The conversations between then usually result in either Blamm stomping off with his nose in the air after insisting his intentions are from the goodness of his heart or Ashling becoming furious and slamming a door in Blamm's face. Shortly after Ashling's recovery, Blamm seems to uncharacteristically disappear.
Some things to keep in mind:
- Blamm's lair is an old magma chamber carved into a cuboid that is only accessible by a hidden asuran gate. It took him 7 years to complete it with a "reasonable degree of security."
- The tunnel that fed magma into the chamber was collapsed, then filled with 15 feet of solid granite. After the explosion, a giant horde of destroyers attacks the lair by melting through the granite. Keep in mind that the melting point of granite is 1,300 degrees Celcius.
- As far as defenses go, there are 1,200 golems stationed every 12 feet in the lab and 160 golems lined up against the walls. Additionally, the walls behind the wall golems (from the floor up to about 6 feet up) are holograms that lead to four golem reserve chambers that cumulatively contain an additional 3,840 golems. Furthermore, there are 12,960 retractable turrets in the main chamber mounted every 3 feet on the walls and ceiling and every 6 feet on the floor. (There are less turrets in the floor because the golems need to move around.) The destroyers were able to completely overwhelm and destroy all of the lair's defenses in about 10 minutes.
Neil and Kara's Bar Room Brawl[edit]
Neil and Kara first met at a bar, and that's pretty much the only thing that everyone agrees on. Beyond that, the story greatly differs depending on who you ask. A basic synopsis is that they got into an argument that escalated into a bar fight and the bartender called the police. Kara said she won the fight, Neil said he won, the bartender had them both arrested and they've been friends ever since.
Neil's Perspective[edit]
Neil was at the bar for only about an hour or so. He had been drinking enough to make him tipsy, but claims he was still relatively sober (meaning under the legal limit if this was IRL). Kara was blackout drunk, stumbling around the bar and yelling Norn stories at other patrons, mostly without their consent. As Kara passed by Neil, she tripped over a stool next to Neil and fell over, knocking Neil to the ground in the process. When she got up, she started berating Neil, claiming that he attacked her while babbling about honor and the stories she has been going on and on about all evening. Before Neil could even figure out what she was trying to say in her drunken rant, Kara attacked him. Neil did his best to defend himself, but despite being blackout drunk, the Norn was an exceptional fighter and considerably stronger than a human could ever be. As the fight progressed, Kara kept on downing grog after grog while still somehow maintaining her fighting abilities and still yelling about Norn heroes. Meanwhile, Neil stayed on the defensive throughout the whole fight, waiting for the Norn to tire herself out. After a while, he managed to get the upper hand and was trying to position himself to be able to disengage without being suckerpunched. But, just as he is about to disengage, the police show up and arrest them both. <plz finish>
Kara's Perspective[edit]
<plz fill in>
Old Synopsis[edit]
Neil says that he was a little tipsy while Kara was wasted. Kara, although admitting to drinking a lot of alcohol, insists that she was completely sober, while Neil was completely wasted. The bartender working that night stated (in the police report) they both were drunk. Kara said that Neil attacked her with a stool and she merely defended her honor. Neil claimed that Kara tripped on his stool and fell on him, then demanded he apologize and attacked when he refused. The bartender reported the two got into an argument which quickly escalated into a fight. Kara said she won the fight, Neil said he won, the bartender had them both arrested and they've been friends ever since.
Other Random Facts[edit]
- Neil and Ashling both lived at Queen's Heart Orphanage at the same time. They quickly became friends, but Ashling was adopted soon after.
- Saoirse dies before the events of Guild Wars 2, but some of her memories are passed onto Sadhbh via the Dream of Dreams.
- Neil meets Shosuro via the Order of Whispers, both being mentored by Tybalt. After some initial strife, they become friends and eventually develop a close and unquestioning friendship, especially after Tybalt's death.
- Sadhbh got passed memories from Saoirse through the Dream. She needs to meet Ashling somewhere before she enters into the Vigil. (Perhaps she starts searching for Blamm and, in her search, finds Ashling. OR perhaps after the explosion, the TEP gets attacked by the Zhaitan's minions, hereby linking this dream to her Wyld Hunt...)
