Testing, from 4/5/18 - 4/13/18, if named NPCs in the Trade Commons and Southern Watchpost use randomized models. Using external links rather than uploading hasty screenshots to the wiki. Will terminate each NPC check if model swaps between days. Only targeting named, non-Crafting Master NPCs. If I've missed an NPC, leave a note and I'll add them to the sweep.

Names in bold confirmed to be random on the last posted screenshot day.

Notes[edit]

  • Turns out Hoelbrak has two "Holda" merchants - the one in Trade Commons and one outside Wolf Lodge. They share the same inventory but, unless they are random models, use different models.
  • As of day 3, only two NPCs have been seen to randomize, and both have a prefix to their name. One could surmise that NPCs with titles/attachmments (Brewer X, X the Carny, etc.) are prone to be tagged for randomization, where as NPCs with simple names (Veleif, Baldur Kjerstrum, etc.) are more likely to be static. Too soon to be certain, but will keep in consideration for a Divinity's Reach subset.
    • Comment from Idris: Good news! I've found nine NPCs that have different models on my shard and none of them conform to your theory! Ossyr, Veronika, Bryndora, Kyree, Hallin and Rakhel, Kalf, Gera, and Jara.
      • So you have! Under the circumstances I'd be willing to consider that conclusive for the entire set, though both maddening and disappointing. It's just hard to believe named NPCs, especially in the cities, shouldn't have static models even if they are shared. Ah well. Per in-game discussion, I'll mark this for speedy once you have the subproject page up. -Azure Fang (talk) 04:04, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
