Spoilers, the Living World, and you[edit]

How should we be using this template with the advent of the LW? I'm not sure that it's really necessary except for major events, or we could find ourselves adding and removing this template from multiple pages every two weeks. The most egregious example was Mordremoth in the last release; very few pages on the wiki linked to it and if you were reading it, it was more than likely that you'd already seen the cinematic and you were looking for more imformation. And yet someone still deemed it necessary to place a spoiler tag on that page. Another question is the personal story - it took place two years ago in game time, and the game itself was released a year and a half ago, is it still necessary to assume that the reader has not yet played through it? --Santax (talk · contribs) 21:10, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

With the personal story - until they remove it as content, then yes. Some people who have played since release haven't done all story steps, after all, and on GWW we keep the spoiler tag for things like Rurik's undeath. There are also new players to account for with permanent content.
For the Living World stuff... I don't think that is truly necessary. Things can only be spoiled for 2 to 4 weeks and even then most articles will not be gotten to without knowing it ties to the Living World. Until they start making the content permanent then I don't think LW stuff needs the tag unless it is a topic not most commonly linked to the LW - and not obvious stuff like LA's destruction. Can we add the typical "spoiler" formatting option?[edit]

What I mean is the
text
you see on many forums. It would allow us to archive past versions of content on the same page as the updated variation without making it an eye sore.

Ex:

==Items==
Each bag contains four individual rewards from the following list. Individual rewards can occur multiple times per bag, with varying quantities.

===Halloween 2014====
<spoiler>
;Consumables

;Crafting Components

;Recipes

;Tonics

;Other
</spoiler>

===Halloween 2013====
<spoiler>
;Consumables

;Crafting Components

;Recipes

;Tonics

;Other
</spoiler>

===Halloween 2012====
<spoiler>
;Consumables

;Crafting Components

;Recipes

;Tonics

;Other
</spoiler>

It would basically create a tab for each year that can be opened by clicking "Spoiler" under the sub-section header. We'd be able to neatly condense large amounts of reoccurring, changing information on one page without just moving/deleting/overwriting it.
