There is some kind of serious glitch going on with this mission for me. After about the third wave during "Defend the gate" (the wave that comes in from the right), the mission just stalls out. Nothing ever progresses, no more enemies show up, nothing. A friend and I have scoured the area, but there's no one stuck or anything. I've tried the blasted mission a dozen times. Can anyone help? 108.65.113.189 04:19, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

I can second this. I submitted a bug report. However, I had to submit a General PvE bug report and noticed there is no sub-area relflecting Instance. At any rate, Bug Report submitted.Grishkafool 12:31, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
The same has just happened to me, the foes stopped appearing after just a small handful, and I scoured the whole instance for them. I'm logging out and retrying. Morgaine 20:37, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
The mission worked properly after logout and retry. The mass of foes outside the first gate are way out of step with having to do this alone though, as the two NPCs contribute nothing (why is Marshall Trahearne coming out to fight grunt foes anyway?). It has to be done by attrition, one foe at a time and then run, but it's pretty hazardous with the green machine gunners on a low armor and low damage Mes. Morgaine 22:45, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
You know, I'd never had this mission bug on me before today, when I tried it with some other random person. We restarted 2-3 times and each time, after wiping out all the enemy waves in front of the gates...nothing happened. No Veteran Giants, no cutscene. I know that Anet made some changes to this mission to fix some bugs, so I was expecting it to be a little different, but that's still broken. The weird part is that later on, I went back and tried the mission on my own... and it worked as intended, no bugs at all. It does seem that the enemy count has been reduced from what I remember, though...
As to the difficulty of the mobs at the gate, you might want to try abusing the arrow carts that are sitting nearby. Siege weapons don't care what profession you are. Another strategy is to run right through the mob and into Fort Trinity, where there are additional NPCs standing around; sometimes you can lure them to be bait for the Risen. A slightly more serious glitch (YMMV)[edit]

Someone can put a bug notification on the main article if they want, this is just for other players' benefit: if you do Tonn's storyline leading up to the mission, but party with someone doing Apatia's storyline, and they start the mission and you accept the mission result, you will have your storyline switched from Tonn's to Apatia's storyline. I imagine it works in all directions. I've already submitted a bug report. 71.179.24.65 00:01, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

I'm actually not sure there is any difference between the choices. I've picked a different "greatest fear" on every character, but other than slightly changed dialogue, everything about Battle of Fort Trinity has stayed the same. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 07:33, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Wasn't specifically a problem with The Battle itself, but if you party with people doing different storylines, you jump storylines. As in, I did Breaking the Bone Ship, then The Battle of Fort Trinity, and now I'm on Liberating Apatia. 71.179.24.65 08:32, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
This just happened to me. Was doing the Apatia storyline, and a friend was doing the one with Syska. Did the Battle of Fort Trinity. Now we're both on the Syska story (Delivering Justice). While the rewards are the same, it does kinda suck as it messes up the personal story. 84.28.39.223 02:00, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
Same happened here, switched from Syska to Tonn, I think it should indeed be placed as a bug in the main article.

Where is Trahearne?[edit]

The green marker seems to be just off the edge of the east wall. I don't see anyone there or any way to get inside that part of the building? (I'm not a member of Vigil.) It looks like it's in the asura gate room but the guard doesn't let you in there.

Dialogues glitching/missing (?)[edit]

I just finished the mission having done the Apatia arc before (left her at Krait tower). Trahearne seemed to be missing dialogues at the end when talking to him as compared to Tonn/Syska arcs, unless there are none for Apatia?

Also, the end cutscene had Trahearne only repeat his previous line that an attack from the Risen must be imminent as all signs were there. It showed up with captions around the middle of the cutscene, with no other lines before or after, only "Trahearne" was written a few seconds later in the caption section of where the normal cutscene lines normally seem to be. Then entirety of him talking about Orr and the dragon and the Pact having shown what it can do etc. etc. was missing (neither voiced or captions).

Two lines that the "Notes" section say were removed or replaced by Anet showed up too, after closing the first gate and heading to the docks some female Charr Priory said the two lines with "... or I'll rip your throat out" and "close the gates".

The Order Designer never said anything to me. I didn't enter the underwater docks at all. There was a gate above the unterwater docks with two levers for me to pull (kick) which closed the upper level and the partly submerged gate. Not sure if bug?

Theres a hidden comment beneath the dialogue section from when the dialogue got reswizzled ingame and we verified the lack of Apatia arc related dialogue.
<!-- verified: no additional dialogue after the cinematic if talking to Trahearne + previously completed Intercepting the Orb (same line as above, beginning "The war is truly upon us" -->
I don't think the voiceover/text missing from the cinematic is specific to this mission, I've had that with a good number of cinematics in the personal story at one point or another.
Gate dialogue is still in the main section, the notes have the trahearne line with the other two for position context. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:20, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

Dialog lines for closing gate vs. defending docks[edit]

I was getting the lines clearly belonging to closing the front gates when I was at the docks to defend them. I've got some additional lines that were not documented. I added them, but not sure if they came from some NPCs nearby and belonging to the docks or if they where from the group still outside the gates. I added the ones not clearly about sealing the gate to the docks section, but that may be wrong. Balwin (talk) 09:46, 31 July 2022 (UTC)
