Talk:Starter Sword

Wasn't able to find it. Hypothesis that it's a buggy weapon that might occasionally be disarmed from the Preserved Footprint Heropoint. (The HP uses a sword + torch and has Hilt Bash, Slash, and his description says he burns, though that wasn't the case when I tested it.) I honestly think it's a buggy npc weapon or a removed Jotun weapon. The other notes on this weapon, including that it didn't have an animation, also suggest that it's a bug drop.--Rain Spell (talk) 18:22, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

I am inclined to agree with the above assessment, for the most part. I have seen a number of Icicle Shards as well as Ancient Jotun weapons and Jotun weapons. The skills for the Starter Sword from the History show 2 Warrior skills, Slash and Hilt Bash (warrior), which was retired back in 2013. Could this change have simply gone un-noticed? Is there an easy way to check the API to see if this bundle item still exists? User Lady Elyssa sig.png Lady Elyssa.2469 21:03, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
Nope, API doesn't allow for checking things like that. ~Sime 21:04, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
I searched for this sword for 15 mins today also, only thing i found were the Jotun Weapons, Icicle, Rock and a Bone with weird behaviour. --Dreale (talk) 18:18, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
I also looked for this bundle for quite some time on a few separate days. I was scouting both areas documented on this page but couldn't find anything. I'm pretty sure I talked to every NPC, killed some mobs, and did some events, and the only bundles I came across are what you mentioned above. At this point, it could actually be the case of this item being removed or being a bug. Vysnaite (talk) 23:14, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
Add another one to the "searched for bundle and couldn't find it" list. It's possible it's linked to the sword and torch jotun somehow, since they have the slash and hilt bash skills, but I tried killing them and kiting them around to see if they did anything interesting and nothing out of the ordinary happened. Also tried to find old youtube footage of people around that area in 2012-2015, no luck. The few bits I did find in the right area just had the usual icicle shards and jotun weapons.
