critical?[edit]

This is a chance to Heal on critical, right? The in game description is misleading, and should probably be noted on this page. timRAR 08:00, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

more concerned about how much and how large AoE this is than if the % was crit triggered... 192.168.104.83 17:11, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

So the descriptions for Major and Superior are identical, and perhaps both incorrect if crit proc is required. Pucktrapper 00:00, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

heals for 370 affected by healing power, every 100 is 20 more healing so 20% benefit. it IS based on crit. sigil tested with was the sup version via pvp training grounds. 166.164.82.204 22:50, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

I suspect the base amount is modified by effective level: 50 + 4*(effective level) + .1*(healing power) Rez Delnava (talk) 20:36, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

New Heal formula[edit]

My own research suggests a closer formula would be base 392 (at L80 with 0 healing power) + .16 * healing power. The formula someone posted now seems off since I only get 392 at L80 with 0. Can anyone plug in some more values or find a "better fit"?

0 = 392
575 = 483
712 = 506
812 = 522
962 = 545
1277 = 596

And that's my contribution to the wiki for awhile I guess. :) 216.114.243.162 07:34, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Any chance you were testing this in PvE or WvW? My testing in the heart of the mists shows a base of 370 healing increasing by 15 for every 100 Healing Power. PvE and WvW healing is affected by the Medic bonus, a 6% Medic bonus will put you on 392 base healing. PurebladeProductions (talk) 15:15, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

off hand & main hand?[edit]

What if you have a sigil of water on both main hand and off-hand? is it when you crit with the specific weapon? or do you get two heals whenever you crit? or is it just a waste to have more than 1? 71.224.239.125 19:01, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Sigil#Notes talks a bit about sigil stacking (and has said slightly different things in various historical revisions). My understanding is that if you equip two on-critical sigils, they each get an independent chance to trigger, but as soon as one of them triggers, both of them are disabled until the triggering sigil's cooldown expires. Which means that if you get tons of criticals and are mostly limited by cooldowns, the second one does almost nothing, but if your criticals are relatively rare and the cooldown doesn't come into play so much, the second one becomes more noticeable. --Felbryn 22:18, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
The proc chance goes from 30% to around 51%, and both sigils go on CD when one procs. The math is explained well here: Talk: Sigil of Strength
