Does this need a slot-6 skill to trigger the level 6 ability, or any skill that heals? I hope it's the former, because: Water Blast would be perma-party-swiftness otherwise. Illiander 21:37, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

False. It will proc on things like the mesmer's healing mantra, which would allow you cast it 3 times in 8 seconds. Any prep -> activate skill will proc it on both the prep and the activate. Blood Fiend is the same way 173.26.18.157 03:00, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
Has anyone tried this with Engineer's Med Kit? It may proc just from switching device kits, which is pretty quick. (Unless it procs from the kit skills itself which isn't #6, but then you have five of those...) --JohnnyCat 13:05, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

Doesn't work with the passive effect, works with the active one. Doesn't work with any Elementalist skill that heals besides the active part of any SLOT 6 skill.201.54.102.100 05:03, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
I can confirm that it works with the Med Kit and procs when you equip the med kit, not when you use a med kit skill or the toolbelt skill Bandage Self. Also, the cooldown seems to be bugged and is about 12 seconds instead of 10. 99.226.190.44 23:28, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Don't know if it's a bug or typo, but the swiftness is actually 15 seconds. With Healing Signet on my Warrior it's only 5 seconds of downtime... would be less with the proper traits but I'm not really into signets :P - Unknown

it's actually 12 seconds, because the +20% swiftness duration from the (4) bonus is applied to the duration.192.168.104.79 06:41, 13 October 2012 (UTC)

Actual CD?[edit]

I just did some testing in the Mists using my Mesmer. First, the effect triggers after skill-6 finishes casting. It triggers both for charging healing mantra and for activating it. However, despite the short CDs for that mantra, you can't chain the effect for permanent swiftness without also having 30% boon duration.

I did a little measuring with a stop-watch starting when the swiftness was applied (rather than when it ran out). It seems like the CD from that point is 15s. I retraited for 30% boon duration to check this result and yes, you can have permanent swiftness with 30% boon duration, assuming your class has a 15s or less slot-6 skill.

A (very) quick check with a handy guinea pig showed that the 20% swiftness duration and the boon duration are applied from your character to nearby players. Nearby NPCs did NOT also get the buff. So, you could turn your mesmer or other low-CD healing character into a swiftness battery, but not into a Yak motivator. The AE range is about 600m. I do not know if there are AE count limits. Someone more zealous about their testing or curiosity will have to figure out if they can permanently swift an entire WvW Zerg. Okuza 09:26, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
