Talk:Relic Collector

From Guild Wars 2 Wiki

This page shows quite clearly that the cost of the Relic of Lyssa is incoherent with the others. It's just a minor thing, but I thought I'd start digging to see if maybe I could fix it myself. Turns out I couldn't. I found that on the https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Form:Vendor_query page, a query for Queen Bahar shows that same order, even though her own page shows it correctly because the table is written out manually. I have only just learned that this Semantic MediaWiki even exists, so I'm not sure how I might be able to change this, if at all possible. I have been curious about the wiki and interested in leaving my findings if they're not available yet, but it's things like these that hold me back in that :( The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zkarts (talk).

I know, right? I've seen it do this sort of thing in the past, and I'm never sure what causes it. My current guess is that it might be a bug in one of the templates used to display the results; if you take a look at Queen Bahar's vendor table and switch the value of "showFacts=false" to "true", you'll notice that the Relic is the only item with an item fact, and displaying the fact also fixes the cost order issue. By the way, remember that you can sign your comments with four tildes: ~~~~ --Idris (talk) 16:24, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
Edit: Derp, I missed that the table on Queen Bahar's page shows the correct order anyway. Still, I think the item fact is a promising lead. --Idris (talk) 16:30, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
Although, all the items on the table displayed on this page have item facts, so maybe it's irrelevant... derp. I forgot to mention, though -- don't feel put off from contributing to the wiki just because you can't solve this. Start off with easier things and build your way up to the more advanced stuff. :) --Idris (talk) 16:35, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
I thought possibly the signing would happen automatically if I'm a registered user. Nope, it doesn't. Learn something new every day.
But that is what I was thinking too. It's fine on her page because it is manually written out. On that query page, though, it shows her inventory, but even there the relic is the only one with inverted costs. I have no idea what format the actual back-end has, whether that stores an order already or whether it's a formatting thing somehow, though.
P.S. Preview, peeking at other people's writing (like the colon for indenting...) and the sign button help a lot, although I'm pretty sure something isn't the way it's supposed to be. I'll try to read up some more on the formatting page. --Zkarts (talk) 16:40, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
Hey. SMW is good in that you can edit one page, and it'll update the automatic list, however it is unfortunately not possible to sort the multiple record properties in any particular order :( -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:24, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
Lol, blanked the whole page, pressed save, then reverted my edits... order now matches. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:28, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
So it literally just needed to be turned off and on again? --Idris (talk) 17:39, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
